I decided to play the prince of persia games for the first time. Finished sot a couple days ago, now playing ww, this game is kinda hard. I didn't like how much time you spent in combat in the first one, it seems even worse in ww since enemies don't have the instakill sequences most enemies in the first had... Less sand slots also means more deaths from traps and falling.
It's the best one
should've played it on easythe combat isn't bad but the enemies are too fucking spongy even with secret weapons
>>729429894Maybe lolI'm still at the start of the game I think, but there was a part I just got through, where a bunch of those ninja chicks dropped all around me, and basically just chained their back execution attacks over and over until I died, that seemed a little ridiculous.
>>729429421It's kind of insane how we went from this peak to two decades of Asscreed slop.
>>729429421Actually this. I liked the game as a kid but never finished it because after a certain point the game requires you to kill 100+ enemies in one go while spawning them in packs of five or so. I honestly don't know what to think. DMC did a similar thing, and everyone liked it, and i recently replayed A&O:XXL that came out the same year, and it did that thing again, but the number of enemies you must beat in one go is even more insane, yet in the EU this game is loved to death. I guess i just don't like beat 'em ups
>>729429991Assassin's creed games should have died with Ezio.
>>729429421Are you playing an updated version of WW? The release version on PC when paired with certain hardware had a bug where some parkour elements installed improperly and went into the game in a way where you couldn't grab onto things and thus completley breaking the game. A complete reinstall solved these bugs but for my first successful playthrough I had to reinstall the game twice and start it over every time. By the third install it was finally bug free. Maybe save exporting could've worked but I was too young to even think of that back then.
>>729430106Nah, even the one set in Istambul was shit. The signs were already all over it.
>>729430294I went through pc gaming wiki before playing these games, don't worry. I'm having trouble with the combat, not the platforming.
>>729430419Yeah, the rhythm takes some getting used to for sure. Even by the end the trash mobs were annoying. That part got better in the next game though.
>>729429991AC1 was fucking peak but then Desilets got into conflict with Ubi during development of 2 and left during Brotherhood.>>729430326It wasn't shit, it was just more of the same. It had decent writing as well which I think it deserves the credit for. The romance is actually really nice and mature - a great departure from the usual cringe vidya serves in that department. The ending is also really good, probably the only good ending in the entire fucking franchise.
>>729431718Replayed AC1 and it really is better than it gets credit for. The tasks you have to do to reveal your target is bullshit, but at least you actually have to larp as an Assassin and can't just chain-kill your way through their bodyguards.Plus the dialogue and Altair's back and forth with himself about 'right' is genuinely interesting. As much as I enjoy the Ezio games, they just went full retard and ignored whatever philosophical questions they raised in the first one.
>>729431718I hated the organization management shit by the end. That should've just been implied to happen after Ezio's child was concieved.
>>729430294It took my about 15 years to beat the game on PC due to all the bugs. When I got it in 2006 or so, every time the Dahaka appeared I'd immediately CTD.Few years later I got a hardware upgrade and tried again, got to the sand wraith section but couldn't change back to normal and so couldn't progress.I made an independent save every time on my next run through and at one point turned into the sand wraith early which would have ended my playthrough again, but managed to load an earlier save.Played it on PS2 earlier this year for the first time and got to the last section before the final boss and the time portal wouldn't activate, preventing me from finishing again. Had to load a save from 3 hours before and play about 1/4 of the game again for it to work.Buggiest game I'd played until Stalker 2 on launch
>>729429421I really like the 08 one.
WW feels way ahead of its time when replaying - the open world feels very souls like in terms of the exploration and setup before that was a thing, and it's genuinely impressive what they managed to do with only a year of dev time in completely fixing the incredibly basic combat from SoT and making it very deep. While SoT has the strongest characters which creates the most compelling narrative - the time travel elements of WW were really well implemented and the themes around trying to change fate are fantastic. The The prince actually feels the most relatable in WW as well given his desperation and the grinding down of his pride. People literally just hate on it for 'You bitch' and Godsmack - tbf if you like bass guitar the soundtrack to WW is fucking amazing.
>>729431839It's insane how well that game aged, even visually it's still nice to look at despite not being stylized. If you like larp aspects of it then you'll be sad to hear it was original intended to lean way harder in that direction. The creator wanted it to be a no HUD and no map game, everything was supposed to be deducible from the environment. Thats why when you get information in a bureau they tell you things like what district he's in etc. The gameplay loop was supposed to be getting there, climbing a vantage point and figuring everything on your own with 0 handholding.
