Even if Terada hadn't become the Chairman of the Tojo, he was still someone that Kiryu trusted, as well as had major ties to the Omi Alliance. The Nishikiyama Family also had a massive grudge against Kiryu, so they probably would have betrayed the clan either way. Things obviously wouldn't have gone EXACTLY the same way, and Terada wouldn't have had as easy a time in enacting his vengeance, but most of the pieces were already in place. A violent and bloody confrontation was inevitable. After all, no one was aware of just how deep the Jingweon's roots reached, nor did they have any idea what Shindo was planning. Whether or not Kiryu had stayed as the Chairman, he would have been caught by surprise.The main issue would have been Haruka. I don't think there's any timeline in which Kiryu both stays as the Fourth Chairman and takes in Haruka. It's gotta be one or the other for him. You could say that one child isn't worth the entire Tojo clan, but I'd imagine Kiryu would have been miserable twenty years later no matter what path he chose.

Honestly, I don't even have much attachment towards Y3. Granted it does kinda suck what they did to Rikiya and his boss, but its story was stupid, its plot twists were stupid, I hated how they dealt with Sayama, I hated Hostess Maker and I don't even like Rikiya all that much to begin with.I do kinda want to see Akimoto and Mizuki again.
