Tough to say because back then games came out delayed in various markets. Castlevania and Metroid came out in NA, but not in Europe or Japan. Original Metal Gear came out on the MSX in Japan but not NA. Original Legend of Zelda came out in NA and EU after a year delay. Megaman came out in Japan and NA, but not for another 3 years in EU. So by that, the best game in my market for that year was probably LoZ, but my favourite of any market was probably Castlevania.
