Most of the non reused bosses are bad, late game ninja trials are dogshit and the story is rough even if you find charm in an NES style NG story. It has the best bones of the NG games which is surprising due to vanilla NG3 being an actually bad video game and not someone being hyperbolic and Regent of the Mask is genuinely a memorable antagonist.

It's still a very button-mashy game overall and for me the combat has nothing that makes NG special. It definitly doesn't feel like NG1 or 2 at all and all the timings for everything feels off.it's the worst game in the series easily, but it is still kinda fun and the gore and cutting animation are kino. MNM was worth beating since you couldn't exactly mash all the time at that level of difficulty.

>>729438567obviously different in way too many ways, but the same basics will apply to both games, the buttons for the main stuff like GTs, on land UTs, Izuna or FS are the exact same. It's harder to adapt yourself going from NG4 to NG3RE than 4 back to 1B honestly, at least for me.
