Honestly i don't think it ran that bad. I finished the main story recently and the performance wasn't as horrible as i've been led to believe. I did encounter other annoying technical issues but whatever.
In any case, i guess you could try other team ninja games for similar gameplay, but you won't be seeing something like Jack there sadly.

I head there's like one setting that fucks up framerates during executions, so if you turn that one thing off you get a fairly smooth experience. It'll be lacking the one graphical effect but it's worth it. Haven't played it to know if it's actually true, but Splinter Cell Conviction is also like this, there's a single setting that doesn't play nice with modern graphics cards and it'll feel like shit with it, but disable that one thing and you can easily play at 4K locked framerate.
