rdr had the best controls in all rockstar games post gtaIV tho (excluding mp3), they respond perfectly well
rdr2 is a bit jarring at first by being more grounded and "weighty" (as IV was too), but by tweaking the settings for a bit you can make it much more bearable and it isn't as bad as retards here make it out to be, they just suck at the game

There's probably a lot of stuff I'm missing since I tried it once 2 years ago and couldn't stomach more than 4 hours of it. At one point, too much realism makes games unfun. Rockstar really overdid it in this one.

It just has realistic animations. You press E to grab a can it isn't instantaneous because he actually lifts his hand and then grab the can to put it inside his satchel. I always hated the games in which you can lift objects with your mind and a button press instantly transfers the object in your backpack. Retards have never experienced this in a previous game and the can't comprehend that he is actually picking stuff so they call it input lag. You can download a mod that removes these animations and voila, "input lag" is gone.

RDR2's story didn't need to be GTA satire, but it didn't need to be GOTYbait TLOU-style DEI feelslop either. We should have got a story that embraced being an outlaw and worked with the open world instead against it. Instead I'm constantly being reminded that I'm dying, my way of life is dying and that I can't really redeem myself but I should try so I can die of TB and get sunrise stag.

Sometimes a simpler animation goes a long way, like in both rdr 1 and 2 you can park your horse on an animal you just killed before skinning it so you don't have to sit through the complete detailed animation
Those animations definitely look good, but having to sit through them so many times makes it tedious after a while
I love rdr2, but I do think many of those animations could have been cut in half and be less detailed without hindering the whole experience
