Do games still bring you as much enjoyment as when you were a kid?
when i can stop worrying about other shit and just play the game in front of me. but it always creeps up on me so i have to play in short bursts. its not what i expect but being sober helps me focus on the game too.i loved every army men game i played but theres a lot i havent. how is green rogue?
I dont enjoy them as much as when I was a kid. When I was younger I got hyped after seeing any vidya, at 25 the novelty wore off, or simply games suck nowadays
>>729452550Rarely, but sometimes they do.
I miss when we had a near endless supply of single A games like OP and this. Shit you bought for 20 bucks and got a fun weekend or two out of and moved on. And no, most indie games suck.
>>729453007People say its trash but from what I’ve seen on YouTube it might be cool, I’m thinking about playing it
>>729453205Me too anon, me too..I’m so tired of trashy games nowadays, there is either something really good and fun coming out nowadays or it’s a massive failure. >Indie GamesLol artsy smartsy shit I hate 99.9% of indie games, rarely any will scratch the itch. Single A games from professional small studios were the stuff.
>>729453205how much was a rental at blockbuster? i was never the one paying, so i didnt pay attention as a kid.
>>729454006Like 3 bucks for a weekend.
>>729454057Jesus you had games for days
>>729452550No, but almost nothing does. The last time I felt anything resembling joy was with my ex this time last year.
>>729454006Around $5. If it was a brand new release, it was a two day rental. If it was older, it was 5 days.Renting games was a phenomenal deal.
No. It's been years since a new game wowed me.
>>729453205that steam indie expo they had last month was so fucking grim
>>729452550>Do games still bring you as much enjoyment as when you were a kid?No. I've reached a weird cliff. Getting good gives me enjoyment but I lost the sense of wonder games would invoke.
>>729452550Old games do, newer one's don't.
>>729452550Not like they used to, but I also get a different kind of enjoyment now, especially with genres I entirely neglected when I was growing up. With the more familiar types of games, I find it pretty tough to find the highs I could get years ago and find myself coming back to the good old shit. But, subsequent playthroughs are never quite like your first one.
>>729454651Can you recommend me some old good games that will suck me in for few hours?
New video games suck
>>729454724Outlaws. Really like reloading system in this game. Honestly, any type of build engine fps game is great. Redneck rampage, nam, alien trilogy, star wars dark forces and so on.
>>729454724At least tell us your preferences in genres.
>>729454724dungeon keeper
>>729452550kind of just depends. Older games usually do it for me, or a game that imitates something I really like.
>>729452550Man I fucking loved any "rats" styled game that came out and ate that shit up. I get why the concept has died off, but the nostalgia is forever. Literally didn't see a single bag of plastic soldiers at the dollar store.
>>729456201>I get why the concept has died offi absolutely do not understand why.
>>729455817Yeah its on my bucket list thanks for reminding me
>>729454724Mega Man Legends
>>729454724Resident Evil 2
>>729456273Kids barely have the same kinds of toys or play anymore. There are still some, but not nearly to the same level it inspires the themes. Almost anything that uses it now is pandering to adults rather than kids.
>>729458308feels like theres more figurines, models and plushies and other toy adjacent "merchandise" than ever. but i guess not actual toys. at least theres pikmin.
