Redpill me on Puyos. Why is this basic-ass puzzle game so popular? Have I been missing out?
>>
>Basic ass
It's hard to master. Try playing any puyo game against the japanese.

popular because its an old puzzle game since the nes days

Characters are fun, series has been around for a LONG ass time, gameplay is fun. why wouldn't it be popular?
>>
>>729453547
For some reason I'm great at Tetris but Puyo kicks my ass, I don't know why.
>>
>>729453250
>popular
Since when? It gets no threads on 4chan, and we all know games live or die by their 4chan presence I don't think you'll find anyone who has played them.
>>
>>729454843
It's been an active series since 1991, that must mean it's at least a bit popular
>>
>>729453250
hard as balls to play.
I've always been surprised by the fact that it has decent AI compared to official tetris games.
>>729454345
because
>you don't know what to do with pairs where only 1 color extends the chain and the other one doesn't (i.e. color conflicts)
>you are unable to build the chain out of order (e.g. working on the 2nd floor while you haven't finished the first)
>>
>>729453250
Low skill floor, high skill ceiling. Creating chains and popping puyo is for some reason deeply rooted in the human psyche to release dopamine. Anyone want to play a ft10? I need to see if my training is paying off. I have ppc, ppt2 and puyovs on pc. I'll be waiting on puyovs bayoen.fr server in the mean time.
>>
>>729454345
You need to memorize more forms
>>
>>729456292
>low skill floor
explain. you're gonna get raped online if you don't know at least how to 10-chain and how to handle all-clears
>>
>>729453250
its a puzzle fighter so thousands of autistics will grind ten thousands of hours into it like everything else
>>
>>729456971
Well not online, online the skill ceiling is probably the highest of any online game I've ever played, but that's just because there's no low level players. Low skill floor as in put 4 colors together to make them pop and stairs isn't too hard to do.
>>
>>729456292
Sure let's play. I'll be on ppt2 in a 1v1 room, with my avatar as evil popoi.

ggs man, was fun to play. Your max is a bit low, but nothing time wouldn't fix

Dude c'mon 20 games isn't enough for me to get a better idea of how I can improve my strategy it was pretty clear that I was going pretty fast even though I made a few mistakes sometimes if we played more you'd see that I make 8 chains pretty fast actually I just wasn't used to being so easily countered that even if the opponent goes a bit slower as long as they make a chain one longer they automatically win and I was conflicted about how I wanted to change my strategy so I wasn't even making 8 chains as fast as I could and yes I also realize that there can be some issues with my strategy if I don't handle a few garbage puyo being sent over by small chains but like I was saying 20 matches isn't enough to fix my strategy so I think this set was mostly a wash but thanks for playing only 20 games with me I guess it was pretty cool to get to actually play the game.

Is the matchmaking on ppt2s on switch 2 active does anyone know?
>>
>>729459351
lol is fine, i'm just done for a bit. You familiar with mp in this game? as in playing against other actual people, cause your post makes me think you aren't.
>>
>>729459873
I played one or two matches with a real person before but that was before I was almost gud, I completely missed the ppt boat and right now I don't have a job and I'm in college for six more months so I can't get a switch 2 to see if ppt2s is active or not WHEN IS THE NEXT PUYO GAME NINTENDO MAKE IT A LAUNCH TITLE AAAAHHHHHHHH I guess in the mean time I can at least get 20 games off you every puyo thread at least.

tetris gets hard as balls too with the advanced setups
>mid-game DT cannons and super t-spin doubles
>FIN TSDs
>donation
>blocking off your stack to do a t-spin
>getting REN off garbage
it's not as easy as it seems
>>
>>729459351
>>729460159
Hey wait, you're the same guy I played months ago, from a /v/ thread, and you beat me back then too. Have you not been playing?
