Thank god, I was too shy to make my own thread.
Thoughts on these games sitting in my wishlist? I noted what I think of each of them so I'm looking for your opinion anon, I wanna trim this down
Probably don't wanna spend more than $100.
Every anon that takes the time to read and respond to these will be rewarded with femboy cosplayer feet

Yes to morrowind, turok, FFx X-2., RE 7
>>
are the performance issues with final fantasy 16 on pc finally ironed out?
>>
>>729462682
I can recommend Nightreign only if you have friends, it isn't fun to play with randos
Morrownd is good and I was thinking of Lies of P but opted out cause i don't have that much money to splurge
>>
>>729462682
I wouldn't buy 2/3 of the games on your list anon

How is the Romancing SaGa 2 remake, and how forgiving is the Battle Rank here compared to the original?
>>
>>729462682
all Resident Evils (RE fan), FFX, Lies of P and Talos are great. Turok 2 is not that great imo, dropped it after 5 hours.
>>
>>729462682
I would easily recommend Bloodstained, Cyberpunk, Lies of P, FFX, RE7 and RE8.
I would normally recommend Persona 3 as baby's first JRPG, but Dragon Quest XI and FFX would do a better job since Persona 3 has life sim elements/schedule management which might turn people off.
>>
I'll probably get cp77 dlc on the ps5 too
>>
>>729462682
>Blasphemous
Some like it but I didn't
>Bloodstained
I would get it just for that, if you like castlevania you will love that.
>Patapon
I loved playing those back in the day, if you enjoy them you should also look at Ratatan.
>Strangers of Paradise
It's unironically kino but get the season pass with it the DLCs are just as good.
>Quake 2
I mean it's Quake so yeah its good, they also made a new dlc just for that release which was enjoyable.
>Lies of P
It's the only good soulslike game not made by from. For a company that shits out p2w mobile garbage, they actually made an amazing game.
>Nightreign
It's nothing like Elden Ring, it reuses assets from it, and all of their previous games, but its only "fun" with friends. I honestly didn't enjoy it and I have over 500 hours in ER.

>>729462682
+ You need Cyberpunk. What bad things you heard are false. It's the rightful 2020/2021 GOTY if only it released in an acceptable state. And you need the DLC, for 30 bucks it's a steal, there's just too much content.
- You don't need to pay for Morrowind. You can, if you want to mod it with the Wabbajack (and that means you need a Nexus subscription).
- You don't need God of War for 20 bucks, too expensive (I got it for 5), especially if you got spoiled the content.
// You could pay for RE/Biohazard Remaster, yeah why not, but I didn't like the gameplay, but yeah if it's a good remaster it's worth the price for sure.
+ You need The Talos Principle, the lore is fucking insane dude. Speaks about AI, God, humanity... it's super relevant, no it's not Reddit, it's philosophy, it's deep, it's challenging and fun, absolutely a perfect game.
- You don't need Doom 3, it's nuDOOM on heroin, it's a weak game, you can only play it ironically.
+ You can buy DOOM TDA, I've never seen it with a price so low.
+ You kinda need Deltarune yeah, what a good story. It's Undertale but a bit better, deeper.

I'm going to grab these I think.
Heard good things about Kingmaker and it's cheap enough I won't mind if it's bad. Saw some people shilling Wrath of the Righteous as better but apparently that's very gay so I'm not interested.
Outward - Shilled to me as "a FromSoft game but good" so I'm hopeful about it.
Blasphemous - I'm uncertain of but it seems like the kind of game I'd enjoy since I liked Hollow Knight and Nine Sols.
Dead Island - I've got the other two free so I want to try the first one before playing those.
>>
>>729462682
>Blasphemous/Bloodstained
Blasphemous is pretty fun and has a great aesthetic. Haven't played Bloodstained
>Cyberpunk
Flawed but still pretty fun. I don't care for the level scaling stuff they did in one of the later patches, personally.
>Axiom Verge
Pretty funy but I feel like I missed a lot when I played
>Nine Sols
Great game, not as hard as people make it out to be but just all around a good experience
>Doom 3
It's fun but it's not like the other ones. Slower, very dark and atmospheric and such. Trying to be more of a horror game.
>FF X/X-2
Pretty good, X's pacing early on is rough though. Takes a while for the game to really get started.

>>
>>729462682
Talos Principle is good. The only reason people bitch about the plot is because there's a character who's supposed to be unreasonable, and they are. Its puzzles are a lot more interesting than Portal, too.
Morrowind is pretty good too, but you have to be in the mindset for it. Zoomers get filtered by the combat and low emphasis on quests.
>>

Katana Zero is a lot of fun.

Bloodstained was good if you can look past the somewhat shit art
Haven't played Blasphemous yet but it's $2. Metroidvanias all come in different flavors but it sounds like Blasphemous should be similar enough to scratch the Castlevania itch.
>JRPGs
SMT3 is great for an entry, not sure of the port quality.
I loved the aesthetic of P3 and it's a good entry for Persona but if you're already iffy with JRPGs, I wouldn't suggest the dating sim series (Persona).
>TES3
Aged poorly but still worth a play since it's a rather unique experience
>Axiom Verge
Good and ignore the negative reviews, they only really started after the game became popular. It's another case of Metroidvania being a very broad category and players expecting Super Metroid 2.0.
>Stranger of Paradise
Heard it runs like shit so you've been warned
>Animal Well
Pirate it or watch the first hour of a playthrough. This is a love it or hate it game, and I am in the hate it camp. First bit might be fun, quickly became tedious.
>Lies of P
Maybe not the only but perhaps the only large budget clone that's worth playing.
>FFX
I spit on the HD remasters. Fucked character models, fucked animations, fucked widescreen cutscenes, some tracks sound wildly different, etc.
If they're the only chance you'll ever play the games, sure, they're serviceable. But emulation might be best here.

The Director's Cut for Death Stranding isnt really "essential" but it makes mid to late game a lot less repetitive due to the zip-line building, makes the movement and combat better, adds some extra missions that add to the lore and some other minor things.
I'd say play the free copy u got until the first boss fight and then decide if it's worth it imo.

Didn't they break things in this one? Like a kill mechanic is completely gone and some other things.

I hear mixed things about this but I think it's mostly due to how it diverges and cuts from the original games. Seemed like fine RE slop games

Looking it up, it seems like a Metro 2033 situation. Remake is generally better for gameplay but the original is preferred for the aesthetic.

I do not recommend Ishin unless you know what you're getting into. The "remaster" (really more of a soft remake) is just kinda worse then the original in every regard. But if you're ready for the Trooper card system and obnoxious heightening of the grind, then you do you.

I keep shuffling the coomer games around trying to decide what to buy. My shortlist:

Knightly Passions: Looks cool, fun art and well reviewed, BUT gameplay looks lacking

Yarimono: Gameplay looks great, looks like it would run well on the steam deck, BUT requires a patch and I heard the DLC was not great

Wings of Seduction: Admittedly sloppy survivors game, but seems quite well reviewed. Is this the best gooner survivors?

Tropical Monster Girls: Fun survival game, a lot of content so far and the demo was fun, BUT it's in EA

Tennis Angels EX: Seems like a ton of fun, steam deck verified and gameplay focused

Future Fragments: Seems like a pretty involved platformer game with a lot to do, but some people seem to have issues with it?

ButtKnight: Demo was tons of fun, can't see many downsides to this one

Aurelia: Art looks fantastic, but I've never even heard anyone talk about gameplay.

On that note, aside from Last Evil and Tamer Vale are there any quality slay the spire like H-games?

Anyone have any experience with these? Anyone have any other suggestions for gameplay-focused H-games (not VNs). Already have the succubus series and Scarlet maiden/flipwitch, although those are good choices for anyone browsing.

Renegade becomes less comically stupid in 2 and 3, there are even some situations where it's the better choice, but by and large paragon is sensible yeah. Only thing I (and many others, I think) would say is that MaleShep fits paragon better and FemShep is a better fit for renegade.
>>
>>729468747
I didn't like it that much. Felt grindy with not much build varity but enemies felt more threatening than in VS.
>>
Street Fighter 6 worth it for World Tour?

Quick glance at the Steam forums suggests it's a bug in a recent NVIDIA driver update and is fixed by rolling back.
As for the port itself, the brought over most of the Switch features in the last update so it should be the best way to play now. Has some great mods, too.

https://github.com/abbodi1406/vcredist
You can run this before installing if it's an actual vcredist issue though.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
Running the above two commands will at least ensure your Windows system files are in a good state and has saved me before from random issues, even if it's useless 95% of the time.
>>
>>729468854
Does your 'karma' carry over the next games? Or can I be a complete asshole and just switch to Paragon in ME2 and be more normal?
>>
>>729468712
I don't believe they ever restored the missing animations
>>
>>729469018
A few decisions carry over, most notably certain companions who can die in the course of the story
The paragon/renegade points themselves just give a boost, e.g. if you're fully renegade in 1 you get like 20% of the bar to start with in 2
>>
>>729469018
People will call you out if you shift between games spontaneously depending on what choices you've made, but generally this only affects outcomes and as >>729469161 said, a starting bonus in that path on the next game. Since Paragon or Renegade choices CAN have different consequences than normal options, you might miss out, but these games are also balanced to be able to one-alignment max per game on a fresh save anyway.
>>

If you genuinely like sh 1 2 3 then you're not going to like simplified and streamlined sh2r. But if you decided to play that game anyway, you'll realize that the current dev had no vision over this project and tend to take things superficially.
>cp2077
This game, despite being advertised as rpg, is not actually a rpg. That being said, you'll get through hundreds of hour doing the same thing in a big empty city whose purpose was to serve as a benchmarking tool for your newest gpu and nothing else, good luck on finding your own enjoyment or reason to keep playing that game if you didnt invest much to the story
>morrowind
You'll hate this game if you're not into pen and paper rpg. My advice: play the pirated version first and see for yourself
>lies of p
Parry based game like sekiro, but unlike sekiro this game was developed by unreal engine -which have a certain issue called input lagging that also exist in state of decay 2 as a reference-
If you can parry in sekiro whenever you want regarding the situation, you have to hold your parry button a second longer before the enemy lands their attack on you in lies of p, because the game would want to prioritize the animation first after you hold shift before it allows pinocchio to parry the incoming attack. This is why people said that lies of p is 'harder' than sekiro.
>ffx
Constant crash on windows, I think you need to install some third party fix in order for it to run perfectly.
I have found that almost all final fantasy titles pre ff13 and excluding remastered classics to be annoying on windows due to bad port and constant crash, but if you can fix it then go ahead, its a good installment minus ff10-2

Re remake is some vidya lineup that I would label as okay; they are not bad, but not that good either. They stood in a middle as nothing but something to kill times; you wont like their story because chances are you already knew them, but you would probably want to see the gameplay and strip ada, claire, jill, ashley and ryona'd them into some chainsaw majini before deciding that it was stupid and uninstall the game - because it offered you nothing else. Its never worth more than 5 bucks if we're talking about the value
>>
>>729462682
Bloodstained: An inferior igavania thanks to the retarded decision to gate crafting behind items that either cost a fuck-ton or drop from one specific enemy regardless of what you make, forcing repetitive farming or for you to realistically just craft almost everything when the game is over

NG4
Fuck would you buy platislop for when its not on sale. Just play it on gamepass instead.

Cyberpunk
Poorly written story, poorly balanced combat (you can legit just spam cyberdecks from max range and nearly no enemies try to rush you down, while your infinite supply of healing constantly refills)
Also despite 99% of your rpg progression being stat padding for combat, there's very little to actually fight outside of unrepetable missions

god of war
Walking, cutscene, setpiece simulator

Morrowind:
If you're going to get a tes game get skyrim because it has the least fundamental issues

AI limit:
A souls like with very poor animations from its clear lack of budget and next to no magic or moveset variety, prices as if it doesn't have these issues

SoP:
Not a character action game. You stay grounded pretty much all the time. Also fucking terrible.

Sols:
Piss easy and only known for that one ryona scene

Doom 3: Its bad lol its doom 3 bro

Quake 2:
Its good. Rather than bad.

Look outside:
Not a horror game, all the monsters are bitches and you kill them with an overweight dude and random junk

Lies of P:
Its okay but you're buying the DLC to a game you don't know if you like... why????

Stellar:
Simon says parry slop. Enemies glow 1 of 4 colors, you stand in one spot and use 1 of 4 answers. There's a reason that like Nine Sols no one ever talks about the gameplay here.

Awesome. Little slow start but quickly picks up.

Really bad story but one of the only arcade flight games. Cream/Smoke for easy DLC unlock.
>DMC HD
I heard the PC ports have issues and a missing cutscene or something which makes the Switch ports better. I'd look into that and just emulate if it's true.

Doom 3 is a mixed bag. It's cool in terms of artdirection, atmosphere and some neat features like the way computers and interactive monitors work. But the shooting part is dire (for exception of plasma gun) and the enemies will annoy by jumping right in your face. And the worst part - every time you take damage your camera shakes.

Among the good things that deserve a mention are cool main theme and strangely enough Doom 3 would be perfect for a movie adaptaion.

It's fine, but it dragged on too much. If you've beaten the first two it's probably worth it. There's also two short VN's included which are pretty neat. One of them you can read before playing the game because I think it originally came as a pre-order bonus for Mary Skelter 2. Those short story collections that were on the website are included in the game and have been extended by several pages at the end too if I recall.

Only played demos for these.
LL is slow and moody but cool if you're into atmosheric games.
EPN feels nice, fast and has destructible environments. But I remember being dissapointed by pretty much non-extant leveldesign and dumb as a rock enemy ai. Maybe it's better in the full game.

>>Skin Deep
That's a tricky one.
The game is silly, casual and has lots of fun little mechanics. But I found it shallow and sorry for the pun - skin deep. It's a 3 hours game that is tretched into 9 hours of gametime. All trully fun mechanics are introduced very late and in a very limited quantity.
And I didn't care about the plot or characters.
And by the way one of the characters is voiced by that fat chink that was bitching about white VA voicing non-white characters.

Thanks for the tip, I'm really disappointed to hear that Skin Deep is short and shallow. I checked on howlongtobeat and like you said, it reports 9 hours of gametime. Maybe I'll pick it up next year, they might do some additional content or drop it to 50% or 60% off after it's not a "current year release".

I was expecting something a bit like Peaks of Yore from LL. I cannot possibly expect the enemy AI is better in the full game for EPN but yeah if the levels aren't up to snuff, you may as well be playing th esame one over and over.

This is everything I've bought. So far Ray'z is excellent, Sol Cresta is decent, Rabbit & Steel is good and one of the few instances where I don't think roguelite progression was a bad idea. The rest I'm going to get to within the next month since there's nothing new jumping out at me for a while. All of this for about $92 USD. Yeah I know MHS2 was before the 18th but I got it on a similar sale.

>>729462682
Stranger of Paradise is excellent and even if it was the same price as NG4 I'd recommend it higher, I say that not being very into Final Fantasy or Soulslikes/Nioh-esque games. Doom 3 & Dark Ages are both "fine" entries but skippable, at least 3 is cheap but Doom 64 or the Heretic/Hexen remasters are better choices.
>>
>>729472348
It's definitely lighthearted but it's also not a game I would recommend for a literal child, either in themes or difficulty. I would say it's an average soulslike for combat. The writing feels a bit reddit. "Lol, we're all dying of microplastics cause it's the ocean!" "Aww dammit the evil queen is oppressing us, just gotta deal with it!"

I think the game has a fine gimmick (all "spells" are just weapon arts on the various shields you can pick up). The main thing for me is that it's super unoptimized and will stutter, which is not what you want in a precision parrying game.

>An inferior igavania thanks to the retarded decision to gate crafting behind items that either cost a fuck-ton or drop from one specific enemy regardless of what you make, forcing repetitive farming or for you to realistically just craft almost everything when the game is over

nigga who grinds in Igavania games? the entire point is to make each playthrough different by working around the drops you get, you are not supposed to torture yourself by grinding unless you want to 100%

people make similar complains about Dawn of Sorrow and Aria of Sorrow, those are also invalid complains but SLIGHTLY more justified because the luck stat is broken in both games

>One of the most satisfying ARPGs to hit things in due to Itsuno & his team's experience with action games
>Pawn system is revolutionary for the time it was released while also being peak comedy, does a great job of making a real-time single player RPG with a full party feel good
>Excellent character creator where your size and weight actually affect gameplay

1. The setting is a grounded, no subversion or weird design twists fantasy world with Mediterranean influences that ends up being brilliant aesthetics-wize.
2. The pawn system makes this the only game that truly captures the "adventurer party traveling" feel. The pawns are independent, but learn from you, you can hire 2 from other people, and their AI is all around just fun to watch. Plus their dialogue is entertaining.
3. The game uses a class system that lets you experiment and mix and match. The best way I can describe it would be like FFV except in a real time combat game. You can make a balanced party, or you can do an all fighter/warrior killsquad, or you can do all sorcerers and try to nuke things.
4. Environmental design, encounter design, and how lights are used. There is absolutely nothing like seeing a pair of glowing eyes at night and getting pounced by a chimera, or finding your first drake in the wild, or seeing a griffin's shadow as it flies overhead.
5. The combat. Combat is dynamic and reactive and all the parts and mechanics are allowed to interact with each other freely. It's only for some reason the only action game or action RPG to let you freely climb or grab/lift enemies. There are a few improvements DD2 makes that I desperately wish were in DD1, but DD1's combat is still great. Webm related shows throwing a loli down a spiral staircase to make the ogre chase after it and kill himself, because ogres in the game go crazy for girls and mindlessly chase them.

There are other reasons, but those are (probably) the 5 most important ones.
>>
>>729472616
Wolves hunt in packs in the game unlike other titles, which shows the unique approach to AI. And all roads lead to Gran Soren, highlighting the impeccably crafted level design. The characters can become soaked to the bone as an example of the immersive interactions in the environment that create a personal narrative for the player. The enemies all have intricately designed weaknesses and the game is designed around taking advantage of them, such as goblins who hate ice and fire both. The pawn system creates what feels like a living, breathing world and captures that feeling of adventure unlike any other, since us pawns are better able to serve the more we learn.

I dunno, dragon's dogma gets pretty weird on the last stages of the main quest and the postgame
>>
>>729473228
They're functionally different games. The HD ones are near-exact copies of the originals while the Untold versions are more like re-imaginings.
>>
>>729473490
The Seneschal stuff doesn't subvert the setting at all, and people really oversell the twist or how important the NG+ boss is. It doesn't mean all that much in terms of the game world except who that world's particular gods are, and what the nature of the dragons are. There's nothing retarded like Tokyo at the bottom of the everfall, or a "WE WERE ACTUALLY THE BAD GUYS ALL ALONG" twist.
