Is Rise worth 7€ on Steam?

Kinda want to try a MH game but i know i can't run Wilds on my PC, so what about Rise?
>>
it is if you get the DLC
>>
World is probably a better entry point. Rise is still great and I prefer it between the two, but it's a much faster, more mechanically involved game that sort of throws you in the deep end and assumes you know what you're doing. If you're okay with that and think you'd have more fun with a more arcadey beat-em-up than with the more preparation-focused hunting sim feel of World, then go for it. It's a lot of fun.

it's the best monster hunter game so yes and you don't even need the dlc to fully appreciate it
>>

So its less grindy then World? How harsh is Rise for new players? Im no stranger to action games, is the difficulty in knowing what to do or just mechanical difficulty?
>>
>>729476023
you get like a 20 minutes long tutorial when you start anon
>>
>>729475493
it is the best game in the past 10 years that bears "monster hunter" in its title.
this is a literal switch game by the way, so you have zero need to worry about performance.

Rise is the best monster hunter hands down. the only drawback is the stupid tower defense game they force you to play and dongo instead of real food. everything else is perfect.
Alo would have been nicer if the roofs in the village were brown instead of black.

its 9.50€ with the DLC
also its it a good game to play solo?i have no friends

>So its less grindy then World?
Absolutely not, they're both almost zero grinding until endgame and then only grinding.

>How harsh is Rise for new players?
Not really at all, I don't know what anon is going on about. The early game is very forgiving.

>Im no stranger to action games, is the difficulty in knowing what to do or just mechanical difficulty?
The difficulty is mostly backloaded in the later fights, and in mechanical difficulty if you mean gameplay.

From what I remember, there's a tutorial in the start that mostly just teaches you how to ride your dog around. Expect to spend a couple hours in the training room just figuring out what each of the weapons does before picking one and setting off. The game isn't very hard at the start, especially if you're quick to pick up on how to use your Wirebugs to swing around like Spider-Man. A lot of the returning monsters just can't deal with it. The purple cat on the box is the first monster that makes the Wirebugs mandatory, and there's a decent difficulty jump from there. But it's not some super duper hardcore game. And if a monster's walling you, you can just run away and change your loadout at a camp.

I spent way too much time in World. Im gonna take break until they make an absolute groundbreaking next gen MonHun.
>>

ok thanks anon, im sold

You can play solo just fine. You get two AI companions to help out with customizable skills. The dogs mostly attack and can serve as mounts, and the cats have a wide array of useful skills like being able to heal you, draw aggro, grap extra monster carves, etc. It's enough that you don't feel like you're in the cuck chair for friendless losers.

>Is Rise worth 7€ on Steam?
Yes; both Rise and World are worth it. Wilds, on the other hand, isn't worth being paid to play.
>>
>>729475493
It is easily the best mainline MH officially available on PC today.
>>
>>729477227
What's wrong with risefags, completely delusional. Go fight your alpha after your tower defense slop.
>>
It's actually crazy how good Sunbreak is compared to other G-rank expansions.
>>
>>729475493
It has the best third person action combat out of any game on PC, worth it for that at least
>>
>>729478675
no one forced you to spend 1000 hours on a side grade game anon when a superior one was right around the corner (Rise)
>>
>>729475830
>World is probably a better entry point
I disagree. The constant bombardment of unskippable cutscenes and other time wasting bullshit managed to put off every single person I tried to introduce to the game.
>>
>>729475830
>mechanically involved game that sort of throws you in the deep end and assumes you know what you're doing
Which Monster Hunter game does this description not apply to?
>>
>>729478804
My big complaints are the fewer than normal subspecies for G-rank, and that not all the textures look good in high res. It shouldn’t have been hard to include more subspecies for the old gen monsters. Also they should remove the frame cap for Switch 2.
Other than that it’s great and still the best MH game.
Hopefully the director’s next game doesn’t ditch wirebugs
