>>729496939It's not a base-building "element". It's balanced around PVP so unless you really fuck with the server settings your stuff decays in real time unless you feed it resources. Abilities are for PVP, not PVE; long cooldowns, narrow synergies, small number equipped at once. The map is parceled into segments for territory control, which means basically no features have unique or interesting facets. Navigation is deliberately a chore. The combat is slow and cumbersome. Basebuilding is missing braindead simple QoL, and most upgrades are in service of making some grindy bullshit slightly less grindy. I've played games like Tribes of Midgar that were merely mediocre, but V Rising is a truly special type of horseshit.

The cooldowns on abilities make them little dark souls fights. Having a no cd dash would be so boring. You unlock basebuilding QOL as you go and combat is meaningful and methodical. This kinda thinking ruined Monster Hunter.

Literally the first boss has an unreactable leap/grab attack that is almost impossible to avoid and you're stuck with dogshit gear at that point. Not to mention that even if you manage to deal with the shitty borderline unfair attacks, the day/night cycle will kill you since it takes so long to kill the boss that it'll become daytime and limit your dodge space to almost nothing.>just play on normalyeah it's somewhat fun in that mode soloThe game is clearly designed around multiplayer.
