When does it get good? I'm ten hours in and so far the gameplay is terrible, the story is boring, the characters are uninteresting and the bloom/art style is annoying.

you learn the dodge/parry timings by trial and error, but I do dislike how some timings are "when the projectile is touching your body" and other times it's "when the projectile is 10feet in front of you." Wouldn't been nice if they made it consistent.

The gameplay becomes stale in Act 2 when you've figured out the shallow battle system and hinges entirely on parrying increasingly more elaborate combos for any kind of challenge. The characters don't become any more interesting, they do not develop in any way, and while there's a decent twist near the end it's not good enough to justify everything before and after. If you aren't enjoying it'd just drop it.
