What do we think of open world? Is it still the future or was it a gimmick?
>>
When it works (Elden Ring, RDR2, BotW, Skyrim) there is literally nothing better. Like, literally nothing better in video games.

The catch: it works less than 5% of the time.

>Elden Ring
Never played
>RDR2
Boring
>BotW
Cringe
>Skyrim
Burnt myself out on that one
>>
I rather play something like Deus Ex or Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines with small hub worlds. Unless your open world has cars it's tedious to traverse.
>>
you need big budget to fill the open world, most devs are struggling

All of those games are shit though

It is pointless to have an open world when everything is scripted and you fail the mission if you deviate 5 meters from the established path.

We get it, you don't like video games.
