Bloober officially announced that they are remaking Silent Hill 1 just a few months ago (see pic)

Before it was officially announced, Bloober have been mentioning codenames for projects in their earnings calls. In early 2024 they mentioned that Project C was in development, this was Cronos: The New Dawn which released in 2025. They also mentioned that "Project G" was in early development (this was Silent Hill 1 remake, Project Gillespie) and "Project H" was in the pre-production stage at the same time (most likely SH3, "Project Heather"). They also have Project D which is going to be a Switch exclusive original IP horror game.

what killed the franchise was western developers. japanese publishers (konami and capcom were the worst offenders) got caught up in claims from western journos that japanese games suck and thought they should hand their IPs off to western devs to be able to get a more global audience. it basically killed off several IPs. silent hill, dead rising, lost planet to name a few.
