If the Nintendo film gravy train continues and they work their way around to the Star Fox franchise, do you prefer it to be>A prequel focusing James, Peppy, Pigma up to / including the betrayal>A standard SF team with a march to Venom (again)>Something else like a post Andross universe, or an anthology set in the SF timeline.
This is nûtendo. Why waste time and effort on anything other than mario, pokemon, or zelda?

Andros as an actual scientist-turned-madman could carry some serious narrative weight too if they flesh him out beyond just “evil monkey head.” Plus, you’d get a rare chance to build up James McCloud into something more than a ghostly father figure with Top Gun shades. Bonus points if they keep the noir-ish tone of 64’s intros and go full Interstellar dogfighter drama.

>>729511675reduce it 4, Opening Corneria Battle, 2 midways, Venom.For extra ambition you, have 4 or more different planets being the midway journey, but the audience only sees 2 effectively mimicking the different 'routes' like the games with two different endings for Venom. That'd be a lot of work and audiences would probably feel 'cheated' out of not getting the whole experience in 1 sitting, looking at the mild backlash against Across the Spiderverse for completely minor jokes and quick sight gags being changed between 2 versions of the film.
