>*has yet to be surpassed*Seriously, why aren't there any new GOOD incremental games being made?
>>729511101Seems real hard to make a good one, NGU idle was a gem yet NGU industries was a pile of shit.Rumor says the guy works on NGU 2 so there's hope maybe?
>>729511735>Seems real hard to make a good oneProbablyI have no idea how the math works behind these games and how devs manage to make it fun throughout the whole experience
>>729512237I'm no game designer so I'm just talking out of my ass but NGU Idle managed to stay fun because of how it handled unlocks. You start with relatively few features, then you unlock something new it adds to the gameplay but to stop overwhelming the player with bloat and old feature gets automated or made more convenient over time. This kept the game fresh for a long time since you unlock first feature after an hour or two but the last one took like a year to unlock.
>>729511101>>729511735>>729512237It's just a gambling game. lights, sounds and number go up.
>>729511101>Sumeraans and Winterly still aren't full-fledged factions
>>729511101If it was that good why did I stop playing, hm?
>>729511101this kind of slop is a guilty pleasure of mine. there is literally nothing to these things, but i like seeing numbers get bigger. i can hardly even remember the experience afterwards. it's probably as brain damaging as jerking off
I have a couple I like that are recent but I will not share them with you because you sound like you like clicking games and I do not like those ones.
>>729511101For me it's NGU, cause I like the funny numbers go up.
>>729511101Everyone who calls them incremental games is a nigger
lets get this thread started off right>any incremental game that is nothing more than a basic menu and portraits of random items can fuck right offgood art and aesthetic is a requirement. nothing has surpassed realm grinder purely because of that. notable mentions are gnorpalogue, tower wizard and sixtyfour
>>729512420Sounds like trimps
>>729514487>good art and aesthetic is a requirement. nothing has surpassed realm grinder purely because of thatTRVKE ANNIHILATION please for the love of god, if any idle/increment devs are monitoring this thread; take note of this
I don't know if I would consider this game an incremental game, but it definitely has elements of it. genuinely one of the most unique games I've ever played, really catchy music, neat aesthetic, good art, highly recommend anons check it out.
>>729514930i was going to say this looks exactly like Loop Odyssey, but it seems the creator renamed the game at some point.
>>729515414yep, had to change the name due to loop hero publisher DMCAing them over name rights. funny, because loop hero was made by a russian who abandoned development but the publisher still managed make money off of them and strongarm stuck in time devs to change their name.
Been getting a lot into browser MMO idle games lately. It's numbers go up, but in an mmo form so you can compare progress with others, which is a pretty cool thing.Sadly I might have played too many of them in my quest to find a "main" game, and now I realize that they're all basically the exact same shit.Thinking of just rolling my own at this point since am a webdev and how hard could this really be? My biggest hurdle is probably finding the sweet spot of balancing with the best math formulas.
>>729515552wait, they're made by different people? the art style is almost the same. i thought it was the same group lol
>>729511101This one hadn't received any updates for the past 5 years until it got a micro content update a while ago without actually adding any new endgame content. This is among the most boring ones I've played even before that.
>>729515946> This is among the most boring ones I've played even before that.Post your game hours.
>>729515946please post 3 that are "less boring" with at least as much content
>>729516147>game hours in something you leave idle in the backgroundwow!
>>729511101>microtransactions to accelerate it>watch ads for bonuses>pretty much incompatible with Flashpoint because it doesn't record computer time so you can't get offline time for a civilization or twoAlso what the fuck happened to Cookie Clicker? I played it again recently and the progress slowed down to a crawl and apparently you just have to RNG your way through golden cookie combos until you get something that lets you progress at all, and everything takes forever to do. Most idle games just seem to slow down to a crawl or only last a few hours.
>>729516371Confirmed shitter who barely scratched the game's content
I maxed out Adventure Capitalist like 8 years ago or so,It's fun to sometimes just install it and get first place in current event without any trouble
Fuck this game and the 20 layers of bullshit you constantly have to rearrange and optimize to make progress and reset to do it all again.
>>729514487>good art and aesthetic is a requirement.I'm still sad that Idleon turned out the way it did.
>>729516546there games are not challenging. do you have difficulty wiping your own ass?
>>729511101My journey so farCurrently playing: Farm RPG but it's like an mmo, or closer to old browser gamesLiked: Crank, Grimoire (until I got stuck at least), Tower WizardDidn't like: Gnorp Apalogue, Melvor IdleLooking forward to play someday: Orb of Creation, Cauldron
Idling to Rule the Gods is the only worthwhile incremental/idler.Everything else just caps out/crashes before you even reach 10 years playtime.
yes please keep posting your idle/clicker/incremental games, more so on the idle side THANK YOU
>>729511101It was meh. Honestly forgot I played it.
>people still posting "games" that look like thisexcel sheets *clap* with a UI *clap* are not *clap* games *clap* fuck outta here with this low effort garbage
>>729516931I know /v/irgins don't like reddit but imo this sub and best-of-the-year awards is a good place to starthttps://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/comments/1hv0x56/best_of_2024_results/
>>729517146but it's fun
Keep an eye out on pic rel. Still in early access, but it's great and should be finished soon.
>>729511735>NGU idle was a gem yet NGU industries was a pile of shit.I see this with other devs too. I enjoyed Incremental Epic Hero, then the chinks behind it released IEH2 which on the surface had all the same stuff but mostly inferior. Worse dungeon system, feature bloat with monetized automation, equipment became a hassle too.
>incremental gamesWhat is that
>>729517368>should be finished soonI've heard it's effectively abandoned right now so not sure about that
>>729517183>all games are the same variation of nothing more than "UI with themed jpegs"hilarious how only a few devs of this genre ever endeavor to actually put effort into their game. Oh boy! here's a space themed one!! look at the tiny 10 pixel spaceship! let me dump 500 hours while I watch number go up! oh!! a farm one! look at the corn jpeg, it looks just like a pixelated corn!!! another 500 hours to watch arbitrary number go up!
>>729517481It's a new umbrella term for all idle-like games, incremental games are like idle games but more active.Basically "numba go bigga" games.
>>729517487That was last year/early this year. The dev came back from the dead a few months ago I think.
>>729517606Oh good! Glad to hear that.
>>729515864stuck in time was called like loop odyssey originally and came out a little bit after the popularity boom of loop hero. Loop hero is the city builder RPG game and this one was just an idle-ish game. But yeah for the style and name similarity I'm not surprised it was forced to rename so fast.
>>729517526Explain melvor idle then.Graphics are not a priority on a game where you are looking away for most of the playtime.
>>729518378>explain low effort slop enjoyed by people without tastewhy? it's self explanatory.
Trying to setup a github so I can post my shitty idle game here and it won't let me make an account because of thisthe fuck kind of hand holding is this?
Shelldiver is kino.
>>729511101Because the genre as a whole is pretty trash. Realm Grinder isn't even good, it's just a more complicated version of clicking/waiting than others.
Does Melvor fit here? Love that game to bits
>>729518591You VILL memorise a unique password containing exactly 15-17 characters, at least three of which are numbers and two are symbols, with no repeating characters, containing no complete words recognised by a dictionary or any sequence of numbers that could be a memorable date, and be forced to reset it every two weeks. And we VILL store your password in a .txt file, have a data breach and leak it anyway.
