I can't decide
>Why not get both?
>>729518059Just get X4. For all the cocksucking NMS fans do over the game and how "redeemed" it is, it's a shallow game with shallow (and repetitive) gameplay. Not so with X4.
X4 busts your balls and can bring a grown man to tears, watching your Space Station and Factory complex that took you months to build get destroyed by the Xenon scum.
>>729518059Homeworld is a better space game.
>>729518253Is x3 better? Or should I just pirate X4? I need hard drive space tho /v/ro : prayinghandsemoji:
>>729518059No Man Sky is surprisingly short, after about 20 hours of play you realize you've done everything and seen everything, it then becomes Minecraft and you just build stuff for no real point.
>>729518743Alright, that works. Can't beat the autism of the X-series. Thank you anon
>>729518743How many hours would it take a new player to build a corvette?
>>729518743Just like in real life.
I played no mans sky on release. You just walked around some ugly planet and shot rocks to recharge your barsI just reinstalled no mans sky last week. You still just walk around an ugly planet and shoot rocks to recharge your bars.
NMS is in the click on rocks while having no fun genre
>>729518623X4 is better and is still actively worked on by the devs. I don't think they're working on X3 anymore.
>>729518059Space Engineers.
>>729519314Because 3 is already perfect. 4's next big update is about trying to fix a decade of spaghetti code and balance.
>>729518059X4's mechanics are exquisite, but their controls are utter dog shit. I don't know about NMS, seems like the story is short and the rest of the game is just fucking around on different planets.
>>729519454I think I believe this guy, I'm gonna chill through the space like Guardians of the Galaxy but instead of fruity boomer music I'm gonna make a corny Russian doomer mixtape.
>>729518059Just get all of the space games. X4 has tons of dlc, so you will end up spending lots of money anyway.
I played NMS a couple years ago and remember being pissed because I couldn't build on my own settlement and had to wait for rng to favor me and make a villager ask me for a good upgrade once in a blue moon.
NMS is such a boring shallow game, you can put all kinds of useless shit you want, but the gameplay loop is still "go to green planet to mine rocks, so you can upgrade your shit and move to orange planet to mine rocks faster"
>>729518059Weird comparison because they're two completely different games. I'd go with X4.
I keep hearing how NMS has improved and the devs redeemed themselves, yet everytime I replay it the game feels the same. It just looks prettier and there's more MMO style time wasting bucket filling quests.Haven't played X4 for a few years but it was pretty decent as an empire builder. It's just really slow. Like 50 hours won't accomplish much.
You don't have to mine rocks in NMS. You can be a trader and just buy rocks in the market.
>>729520370>Like 50 hours won't accomplish much.It really depends on how familiar you are with the game and how to exploit its mechanics.Once you know what you are doing, 50 hours is plenty to set up a shipyard and basically have infinite money (even if you choose the poorest starts).
I prefer Underspace
If your space game doesn't have sexy ships I'm not playing it.
>>729518059They aren't even comparable.X4 is for turbo-autists, NMS is Weenie Hut Juniors: Space Edition.
>>729520370X4 at least has some purpose in its design instead of just being procgen slop.>>729522092Is there voice acting yet?
>>729522453noted
>>729518059NMS is basically minecraft in space. Its a sandbox type game, so don't go in expecting super deep mechanics about trading or whatever. And ignore anyone that tells you that the gameplay loop is all about shooting rocks. You do that for all of maybe a half hour before you have enough money to just buy what you need. Just go in expecting a chill exploration sandbox. The biggest hurdle you'll probably run into is finding the things you need to buy base parts and then having the materials to build them. But even that's not a problem because the game has creative mode. But honestly just get both. X4 is like 5 bucks and NMS regularly goes on sale for $30 and I have nearly 1000 hours in it.
