Is this good to play as your first Diablo game?
yes. ignore the larping fags pretending like diablo 1 is worth playing. D1 is not unlike any ARPG and is outdated as hell, unless you deliberately want a slow dungeon crawler. D2:R is great and basically the best remaster product on the market and is basically 1:1 unless you have hyper tranny autism.
only if you never plan to play 1, because it's very rough to go back to if you've played any of the newer titles

Like in diablo 4 they hype how much of a big deal the big 3 prime evils were and you mostly fight lesser demons and so on, but if you played d2 before, the danger is kinda lost because the prime evils went down like chumps in d2 to your character. These games should have ended with 2.

D2 does have a decent enough story to keep you going though and you can easily follow it, as well as the very pretty cutscenes being a nice reward in and of themselves at the end of each chapter.

>>729521858Unpopular opinion: I hate Diablo II. I played the original Diablo on release, bought Diablo II on release, and I just didn't like it. Never understood the hype. The early game is just god awful, takes forever to scale up to anything decent. The story is alright, but the atmosphere of the first game was better. The gameplay of both III and IV are better, so if that's what you are after I would just jump to IV (I like III, but realistically it is dead, especially since IV is finally getting on track).
