Anti-AI bros, h-hold the line!
>>
so future SE games will be buggy messes, they are speedrunning their downfall

I'll accept it if they include a minigame in part 3 where you have anal sex with Cloud

Does this include localization?
Because if so, I'm all for it.
Not my problem.
>>
To be fair, SE is at least telling you.
Most other companies are already doing it, but will lie to you about it if they think it will increase sales.

But anyone working in any sort of application development field would be a fool not to leverage AI. So again, everyone is already doing it.
>>
>>729531078
>reduce costs
so games are finally going to get cheaper? maybe I will be able to afford the entire FFVII remake without taking out a loan then.

Square Enix is saying it because it helps their stock price, that’s it.
>>
>>729531078
They have QA?
>>
>ai debugging
the buggy intern code will still need to be improved by someone who actually knows what theyre doing even after ai debugs it
these are just buzzwords for shareholders
>>
>>729531078
That's fine, squeenix hasn't been good in a decade anyway.

Of course, but again, how many people are simply lying to you about it?
And here’s a clue: it’s all of the indie darlings. They have smaller teams and less resources, so they have to leverage generative code and programming in order to compete.

The thing is, any dev worth his salt is using AI. It’s like having a junior developer at your disposal, but instead of waiting for a white guy to do it for me in 1-3 days, or a jeet to understand me and do it worse in a week, AI has my code to me in 30 seconds.

Sure, it’s rough and had mistakes, just like a junior dev would deliver to me. But the difference is I can review it, optimize it, and tell the AI where it fucked up and have it correct it within seconds. I don’t have to worry about someone sperging out on me because they can’t handle being told to fix a mistake.
>>
>>729531078
and yet they canned kingdom hearts missing link (machine learning). talk about failing to see the irony.
>>
and how exactly will this improve sales of their games?
>>
>>729533084
Square doesn't care about selling games, just funneling XIV sub money to the cabal of oldboys driving the company into the ground.
>>
>>729531078
given how bad the QA is on FF14 it will be an improvement
>>
>bruh, you got a man doing a fake girl voice for a female character and he never emotes. fix that shit, you obviously forgot to remove the placeholder audio from the final release
maybe AI QA won't be so bad
>>
>>729532589
Don't kid yourself, you would, too.
>>
>retard dying company that hopped on the NFT/crypto bandwagon, now hopping on next techbro scam
Stop the presses
>>
>>729531078
What the fuck does that even mean? This is fucking retarded tech illiterate boomer nonsense. Holy shit this is their fucking NFT push all over again
>>
>>729531549
You fucking idiot, do you no know what QA means? It's for shaking down the game and checking for bugs. They're using AI to beta test.
>>
>>729533318
>overseer marks as false positive, AI now ignores similar things in the future
that was easy.
>>
>>729531078
>to automate 70% of QA
It's not automated if you need to have a dedicated work force to QA the automation for errors though. At least not unless you just wish to eat a massive quality loss. But in either case, there is very likely quality loss regardless.
And it's difficult to imagine it even boosting productivity much at all.
>>
anti AI people really are the luddites of the modern technology era
>nooo you cant use AI to remove tedious and inefficient tasks that only literal retards and bottom feeders would ever agree to do because... you just cant okay!!!!
who cares, just get these people to deliver for uber or something there's always going to be low iq dogshit jobs for these retards to do
>>
>>729533480
QA often also includes things like "cleaning up" translations.
>>
>>729533610
Back to r/defendingaiart
>>
>>729531078
That's fucking idiotic
They will spend infinitely more time and money doing this and then reviewing the results for validity rather than just paying people to play and document
>>
>>729533480
>>729533610
>saar they will do the needful and test with AI
That's fucking gibberish. Are they gonna train a model to play an unfinished, buggy game? Is it somehow gonna know what is and isn't a bug? You can't just say "AI" as if it's a magic spell that you cast to do whatever you want.

Actually, you can. The end result isn't what anyone cares about. AI is all about speculative equity and hype. Anyone who buys into AI for an end product is a literal retard, it's all about being on the bandwagon.

QA means Quality Assurance. It means they put the software under different tests to be it works on different scenarios and circumstances. Also, modern QA includes stuff like dubs and translated text, which means a ton of easy but tedious work.
For QA, I think is fine for designing tests and quickly check if stuff like in-game text looks and reads fine, but actually debugging? Sounds like a time bomb
>>
>>729533606
You’re showing how ignorant you are to programming. Read up; there are some quality replies that explain how AI makes things way faster and more efficient, even with humans who need to review the AI code. It’s no different than having a junior dev or jeet give you code to review, except it’s magnitudes faster.
>>
>>729531078
>aiming to reduce costs
the real takeaway, this whole ai story feels like it has to carry the blow to shareholders
sqex is simply sizing down, putting too much money into everything, they already terminated large chunks of their western branches
>>
>>729531078
So who will they hired to remove the bugs the AI adds?
>>
>>729531078
Yes SE, please go on. Make that decision. In fact, bet all your money into that, this can't fail, pour hundreds of millions into it.
>>
>>729535002
That’s why they said 70% automation. The other 30% will be humans.

>>729533689
To be fair, this “Ai is magic” shit is happening a lot in the business world. It’s kind of the same thing as when the internet took off - they are ignorant to its limitations. I had a sales guy this week offering improvements to our client complaint queue, and the entire just of it was we should have “ai agents” that can automatically read the individual complaint, determine what to do, handle the execution of the actual method/function needed for remediation, inform the client, and close the ticket.

It’s was such a pie in the sky idea, riddled with ways it could go wrong. But this guy was 100% serious. AI is a great tool and everyone should be using it, but not for these use cases.
>>
>>729531913
Reducing costs is a way to make numbers go up once you stop growing
>>
>>729533084
They always had the VII remake as a back up plan but fucked that one up as well.
I'm pretty sure the entire meeting room is confused why they can't outsell an almost 30 year old game
>>
>>729531913
>games will get cheaper
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You'll get buggier games for the same price and you'll like it.
>>
Bad QA testers have a faulty understanding of the underlying systems, engage in magical thinking, and cannot triage worth a damn, going in circles over minor issues while ignoring critical failures. LLM's are gonna work out great.

LLMs have very limited practical use outside of coding. The only thing it is doing is disenfranchising the people making it. Oddest class suicide I've ever seen.
>>
>>729531078
That is the last thing I’d put ai in charge of
