>>729544823Nothing after Frozen Throne is canon
wrath was just as retarded
>>729544823ok boomer
>>729544823Horde and Alliance were basically as close to allies they were ever going to be at the end. Can't have that. Haha time for Garrosh!
Sorry but a woman forged the Frostmourne.
>>729546768Did you forget about the gunship batle
>>729544823>thinking wow is canon>thinking wrath or tbc were goodnigger
they literally skipped working on azjol nerub. which should have been one of the most important central points of the entire xpack. the remaining non-undead nerubians teaming up with the alliance and the horde, to try to get back their kingdom. they're the group that had been fighting arthas non-stop for longer than anyone else. there should have been a story with the death knights that broke free from arthas immediately going to the nerubians to share their knowledge and learnt what they knew. they could have been the ones who vouched for us / got us entry in azjol nerub. you could have also woven the yogg-saron story perfectly into the nerubian zone because he would have undoubtedly corrupted some of them. we also could have seen arthas's story with anub'arak explored more deeply. arthas basically never would have succeeded without the nerubians they're the ones that provided his undead army with its architecture, infrastructure, and necromantic magic. we shouldn't have fought kelthuzad in naxxramas we should have fought him in a giant ass nerubian black library where he was studying some of the oldest, darkest, and most powerful magic on azeroth.instead we got:>stupid jungle zone that shouldn't exist in the northrend xpack>gay dragon zone that's an entire unrelated story that could have been told in literally any other xpack>furbolg zone, come the fuck on>tournament patch and content which was pure cancer>pvp zone everyone hated for this reason WoTLK will always be a 0/10 xpack, they literally cut the second most important zone next to ice crown. leaving an absurd amount of infinitely interesting war3 lore to never be explored properly and at the ideal perfect time. what a colossal fuck up. it's like doing TBC and leaving out the naga entirely, except for having slave pens and underbog and nothing else.
>>729544823TBC is also non-canon. They tried hard to make the villains’ actions make sense in Legion, but the devs just thought "man, those badass outland outlaws would make good bosses" and so they turned evil for no good reason.
>>729549079I said "as close to allies they were ever going to be" not "totall BFF butt buddies". You can't have warcraft without "war". Hell, prior to that, they were both fighting shoulder-to-shoulder until Putress nuked them all and spoiled the good vibes.
>>729549182>>729550089The problem with WoW after classic is the shift from passive storytelling to active. You see it from the way they handle the world feel and the lore all the way down to basic quest design.
>>729544823Such a shame Wrath finally started to get most of the classes to a halfway decent place in terms of engagement while playing them, but it completely dropped the ball on 90% of non-raid content by making it way too fucking braindead easy, so none of the improved class gameplay actually mattered.
If you even knew what was going on in the story you are low testosterone. I was simply killing alliance and fighting in the arena and would sometimes follow around retarded PVE fags so I could get a trinket and shit. I dominate. I don’t care about your faggy stories and teamwork and shit. PVE cucks are all women.
>>729544823I don't give a shit about canon but nothing after wotlk is worth playing
>>729550469Such a shame you are such a faggot. “Muh class play” who the fuck gives a shit. I played a warlock just spamming shadow bolt and I loved it. World of Warcraft was never ever ever about the “gameplay”
>>729550292Any examples?
>>729550469>it completely dropped the ball on 90% of non-raid content by making it way too fucking braindead easy>be me, resto shaman>drop healing stream totem>literally do nothing elseThat thing was so funny. You could just sit there, maybe throw riptide on the tank or throw out a chain heal every now and then and just spin in circles. It was so dumb.
>>729546768>Horde and Alliance were basically as close to allies they were ever going to be at the end.lmao no. Literally the entire expansion is just the alliance trying to fight the scourge while the horde repeatedly chimps out at them. If there anything WotLK did right in the long run it was justifying going back to all out war.
>>729550865also mana is there but doesn't matter
>>729545279TRVKE RVKE
>>729550865This is why I liked playing disc spec with my priest in wotlk, could do decent damage while also healing. Played it a lot in raids too
>>729552252I mean, I GUESS I could have thrown out a lightning bolt or two, but the fact all I really needed to do was keep earth shield on the tank and drop a healing stream totem was funny. Totally braindead gaming. That thing was WAY too good.
They hated Cataclysm, because They never played ToD/BtDP.
Reign of Chaos, Frozen Throne and WotLK are retarded. Fight me.
>>729550843In classic you experience the storytelling and world building. Duskwood is the epitome of this. You don't have to read quest text or notes. By simply playing the area you experience the storytelling. Starting TBC they start really throwing in showy gimmick quests (vehicles, dialogue dumps, etc.) that try to forcibly show you something, whether that be lore dumping or making you feel a type of way. This is why so many of the villains are just guys you'd recognize with dubious at best motives. Obviously this gets significantly worse in WoTLK and then worse and worse each expansion. What made WoW classic so enduring is how the designers took the existing story and then built the world around it. Everything (outside of some of the later zones) feels impactful because of the position the world is in. A bunch of bandits pose an existential threat in the same way that a gigantic dragon does. Most importantly these things come by organically. By lending a helping hand you're sort of swept up in these greater plots. Each expansion represents the movie-ification of WoW. They try to force you to engage with the writing and they try to make you feel like the main character and it just doesn't work. The writing should be a supplement for the design team first and foremost to inform how they build the experience, and then if the player wants to engage with it they can choose to. No amount of marvel cutscenes showing off Thanoslite and telling the player how epic everything is will ever compare to the feeling of walking into Raven Hill cemetery for the first time and seeing Mor'Ladim shambling around or seeing an NPC screaming about there being something on the road only to see Stitches approaching from the distance.
>>729552623TBC does nothing of the sort.
>>729552752https://youtu.be/3dLcmpnoEy8
>>729552623i believe vehicles didn't exist until wrath, tbc weirdly has less gimmick quests than vanilla because they listened to dumb players complaining about "annoying" quests
>>729552909>>729552880
>>729545279You mean Beyond the Dark Portal.WC3 turned Thrall into Green Jesus.
>>729552959okay that's one quest which some dev was clearly proud of because it was repeatable before dailies existed, but vanilla had all kinds of cool scripted unique quests for classes and weapons and such and tbc did none of that
Forsaken should've stayed neutral. Night Elves should've stayed neutral.
>>729553174Dude, TBC had way more bombing run quests than that. Against ogres, bird people, at the sunwell island. It wasn't "that one" quest.
>>729553174I'm not talking about unique quests, which are actually good, I'm talking about set piece quests. TBC doesn't have a lot of them but they represent a shift in philosophy that expands to why the story and its telling got worse.
>>729553551has one of the worst quests ever made, mandatory 10 min escort lore dump
The burning crusade was undeniably fucking awesome but it was ultimately the wrong move. WoW should have never been developed via expansions the way that it was.
>>729553963I think they should've just focused on the area design more. You never really feel like you're exploring Outland, every area just feels like disparate quest hubs. They should've made the content flow into the base game better. I think they probably felt like TBC needed to be a success and so tried to make it as flashy as possible and that was where the problems began.
>>729554005Dem nostrils
>>729554845they are filled with The Light
>>729554928How should third/neutral factions have been handled? Playable and then you can build rep with Horde/Alliance to join them while also being able to just stay neutral? Should Pandarens have been a big, third faction?
>>729544823Throne of Thunder was great and Warlords trailer was peak vibe
>>729549660truth nuke. cutting the azjol-nerub zone and only showing it off in 2 dungeons and one raid boss encounter was just pathetic and a spit in the face of people who played frozen throne.
>>729554005>praising niggers to this degreeis utterly amusing considering that the whole reason why so many nigga's were enslaved was because blacks were selling other blacks into slavery for all sorts of reasonsmoney? yepprisoners of war? yepbreaking a law? yerpblacks are so volatile that they cannot even trust in other blacks without getting screwed over. I swear, this preachin so much nigga booty is going to implode one day and i'll be here laughing at you boot lickers
>>729550292The problem with wow is that they rape and make irrelevant most of the progress you made in WC3
>>729553478I hate to help you trash TBC, but you're right. Ogri'la even has a simon says crystal quest (every day until you like it)
>>729556517I think this too is a post classic symptom of invasive storytelling. In classic the factions are at friction and have small skirmishes over important territory but that's more or less it. They have to completely bastardize the factions to give them a reason to be at all out war and it makes the Horde into a bunch of ultra pathetic losers who cry out as they strike you.
>>729556029guess they never did much with the scourge lore, pretty important events that are glossed over, but blizzard couldn't even agree who/what arthas becomes anyway
>>729556382The 2008 financial crisis happened on the back of a negro bubble. A bubble based on trying to push loans for houses onto low income negroes because the powers-that-be projected that negroes couldn't be that bad. Can you imagine when this negro bubble pops?
I played wow classic recently and it confirmed to me an idea I already had back in the day. Post WotlK is liquid shit, but WoW was never a good sequel of warcraft, it ruined and sucked the soul from the setting.
>>729552623I get what you say, to sum up in base wow all feel better because you are just your dude doing your part within a role that had major actors and events, from late base/tbc and going on, you are the best thing ever, you are the lore, you kick everyone ass.
tbc coming out again, is that any good.
>>729559296Yes. Raiding in TBC is the pinnacle of WoW, there is no greater experience.
>>729559604which class would be best to play for it out of hunter, shaman, druid.
>>729559718Shaman if you want a free raid spot, especially on allianceHunter if for some reason you don't want to play shaman (totems are kind of annoying)Druid if you want to tank or be a faerie fire debuff bitch
>>729559167It's not just that. It's a combination of a bunch of things that all lend themselves to invasive storytelling.
>>729559718I would say shaman but they are making changes so shaman blood lust applies raidwide. I think most shaman stuff will apply raidwide actually.
>>729544823Wow in its enterity isnt canon. I hope war4 is made someday but only after the ccp gets its hand on blizzard completely and fully and the company becomes chinese and all califag employee are transfered to China hoping to keep their job and then are sentenced to the wall and executed on stream. And then the game is made by proper chinese devs who know what they are doing.
>>729560256So nice.
