I started playing recently. I'm enjoying it a little bity, Lovecraft's cosmic horror stuff is always interesting and all, but I feel like the game's pace is kind of fucked up.
It's definitely a game to be played several times, with the first playthrough being quite slow and sometimes just too boring. I'm pushing myself to continue because I know that once I have more information, a second playthrough will be much better and I'll be able to discover a lot more things.
It's kind of a flaw in the game, but a justifiable one, I think.

No more (you) for you, but I've spent a lot of my teen years playing rpgmaker slop games and Look Outside definitely has probably some of the best gameplay. It has some flaws but it still has some actual depth to it that makes it interesting.
Even mentioning some of the more famous games like anything from Mogeko the gameplay is not even in the same ball field.
I like Mogeko but they're some of the most true style over substance games. They have mediocre everything but the art and characters look nice. While LO still manages to have good storytelling and gameplay.
It should be remembered alongside a lot of the other classics because it is great and it's very polished for what is an actual 1 man game.
Especially when you compare it again, to other "1" man indie RPG maker projects. All the other big names don't hold a candle to it, especially artistically

Undertale completely ruined indie games. Now it's all quirk chungus maxxing. Look Outside was actually a really good interesting game for the first maybe 10 minutes of the game. It's creepy, it's interesting, it's mysterious. Then you get to the painter and sike, this is a quirky Troondertale inspired WACKY Ren and Stimpy game for Rick and Morty fans. A friend gifted me this game for Christmas and I am having a lot of fun. 1.5 hrs so far but I think I am going to restart and do my planned route that I have written down on a notepad. No, not really. The closest thing the series has to it is in BS2 with the reverse route shit. BS1 has a single lettered ending that you can potentially lock yourself out of on that cycle if you fuck up in a very specific way and miss a single book because of it. For coa just make her second last if you're uncomfortable so you can gauge whether or not she'll be able to use both of her skills.

I just chose a whatever weapon here but the crit rate and speed are infinitely more useful. Even on a weapon that doesn't eat your other stats, why sacrifice stm and your speed for just a tiny bit more damage. Having her not be a slow piece of shit means you can get off massive stalks too.

The best and smartest option if you have to wear it, is to just give each member a piece of the set to balance out the debuffs instead of stacking it on someone and gimping their performance extraordinarily.
Those aren't the only items either. You can still give your other party members the clogs, denim vests, elbow pads, patch set, gloves any kind, tie, work boots, vintage sneakers, rubber boots, cowboy hat, trader gear, hoodie, windbreaker, army helmet, rusty crown, hell even the giant rat skulls that are op somehow still even late game....
Fuck even some of the more rng drops like floral shirt, eye necklace, coat of arms, and the pan sets.
There's no lack of any equipment in this game. And the ones that give you a bit of attack are plentiful too without ruining your speed and agility.
Not a single point in the game do you even need so much attack, when like I said the detriments of the set are a lot more noticeable and are definitely more of a problem early game.
You're getting diminishing returns for a worse overall performance regarding the attack. Not seeing this is proof you fell for the trap..
