Reminder that this will be the major push towards ending personal computer/personal device ownership
The prices will keep going up, there will be no relief, these things will become ultra-high end luxury products you cannot realistically afford
Your current PC is the last PC you will ever own. When it dies, you are forever WITHOUT a personal computer, your ONLY choice will be a cloud rental service where all activities are monitored and you may only engage in approved activities that you are in good standing enough to access

And many more examples like that, Prototype 2 spite-killing Alex and replacing him, and the more subtle things - it was not natural, ALL OF A SUDDEN it was full-on dumblr shit everywhere and EVERYONE shat on them, but they infiltrated gaming through nepotism.
That much was obvious, but don't pretend you knew about the ram prices - this was not orchestrated, this shit is because of AI. Fuckers at animation studios and game companies are probably generating shit en masse

AI will make it easier than ever to isolate and quarantine them and their dangerous ideas from the herd. I have a smaller ssd for operating system and program files but a 4TB ssd for AI and games. It's great and it barely gets used. Keep an external for actual storage and replace that every couple years with the old ones for backup..

Okay, so, for the sake of argument let's pretend that gas and groceries are cheap, but everything else is ridiculously expensive. Just purely hypothetically. Play along.

If I can't afford ANYTHING except for those two things listed above, why would I bother going to work? The only thing I could afford to do is to eat and pay money so I can drive to work.
Houses aren't cheap, so I'm not paying off my own property. I'm paying for someone else's property.
Leisure activities that aren't "Go outside and go for a walk" are too expensive, so I'm not doing anything when I'm at home.

Why is it that people 30 years ago could directly benefit from the advancement of civilization, technology, society, scientific advancements etc. to do all sorts of things, but in the "future" I get to do things on par with a slave?
What benefit is there to me for going to work and keeping everything running? What benefit is there to me to line Goldbergsteinwitz's pockets with money so HE can do things?

Thank you, "AI" overlords (LLMs are dead end tech and are in no way AI), very cool!
Our lives were incomplete without rising electricity, hardware, and soon water prices, jeet slop everywhere, retarded massive layoffs that backfire most of the time, and a bubble that will make 2008 look like a harmless wet shart when it pops (with us holding the bags and bailing everyone out, of course).

in the great depression the average job paid enough to buy a house in cash in 4 years flat. and thats not differentiating between men and women, women obviously made much less, so men probably made even more. and the unemployment rate was at most twice is high, at about 30%

in 1960, the median full time working male aged 25-34 made $5,400 a year, nearly half the price of the median house price, which was about $12,000

>764 was founded in 2021 by Bradley Chance Cadenhead.[8] At the age of 15, school dropout Cadenhead (alias: "Felix") learned techniques of exploiting minors and sextortion on a Discord server named CVLT and subsequently founded 764. In the online game Minecraft, Cadenhead met an unknown person who assisted him in establishing 764.[7] The 764 network is primarily active on Discord and Telegram, and to some extent on the gaming platforms Roblox and Minecraft.[9] It is also publicly active on online forums.[10][11] Its members are involved in systematic sexual, physical, and psychological abuse of minors through sextortion and other practices and in distributing child pornography and depictions of violence. Victims are selected from the 9- to 17-year-old age group, with a preference for children from marginalized backgrounds or with mental health issues.[12][13]

Forcing DUH CLOUD down our throats was always the plan.
First they tried to sell it to us the old fashioned way (lies and trickery), but since cloud gaming was obviously dogshit that didn't work. Now they're just going to make ownership so obscenely expensive that the vast majority of gamers will be priced out and forced to join the cloud. A large market of renters and a small market of hyper-wealthy owners.
Could you imagine the shit they could get away with if most of the market was cloud gaming? Next level greed and control. What we understand as "gaming" will cease to exist. They are salivating just thinking about it.

There is nothing wrong with AI, but the way that Altman is selling it is just pure fucking corruption and sleaze to its core because he is selling it as something that it just cannot become as it is now. China is unironically taking the better approach to AI by focusing on open source and optimizing it to run on consumer hardware.
Altman is just a fucking conman and the consequences he brings will be devastating, but that devastation will really just be tied to America.

They don't really have the control you think they have. People just don't engage in armed rebellion at the drop of a hat because it's risky. The moment the "they" try to imprison and enslave most of the population and kill the few they think will resist is when the powers that be get shut down and shot up by a series of massive uprisings.

if this were true why would our lives already be destroyed, youth wasted, and yet nothing happens, instead just vague empty threats like this are posted online about some elusive group of people finally doing something at some arbitrary point in time as if theres some magic boundary that cant be crossed?
what you fail to realize is diversity is why your life sucks AND why you cant do anything about it. you cannot relate to your peers your dissatisfaction with the world because your peers are a bunch of retarded browns and traitorous brownoid supporters. theres no comradery to be had, no common goal to fight for. shitskins and women are happy to be slop guzzling debt slaves until they graciously expire and your peers have been too diluted with them for you to even have any kind of network or community to have any solidarity with or any way of growing what little network you have without being subverted
reading posts like this are so fucking cringe, its clearly just an escapist fantasy to cope with the fact that every day the chance of doing something and the effect it would have diminishes, and that the time to act has already long since passed

I really dont think cloud gaming is ever gonna take off, the tech exists and is essentially the best it can be today and not many people use it.
they're up against the laws of physics with latency, the device in my house will always respond faster than the one in the city 300km away.
and none of the subscription models for vidja have unseated steam/buying games, xbox is even running at a loss to try and poach sales and it's not working.

I really have no idea what's gonna happen in this space if people cant afford hardware, why would companies rent server space to us when it could generate more investment dollars for AI?
