There is always a couple QoL things added that can make it frustrating to go back. Not impossible but it can cause frustration. Just depends on how much you want to dig into it.If you're really unsure if you're going to be into MonHun then World/Iceborne might be what you want to go for just because it's probably cheaper and has plenty of content all the way through M-rank. Wilds currently only had low and high rank. Wilds is pretty sweet but just doesn't quite have as much going on and will cost a little more. If you hop in on World and want more then Wilds is always there. There is also the offshoot games, Generations and Rise. Those are a bit of a can of worms when discussing them. They are just a bit different. After you play some monhun watch some gameplay of those and just decide for yourself.

Every single old monster was adjusted with the feature in mind and every single new monster was designed around it. If you choose not to use it you are gimping yourself for numerous reasons. Retards tried to pull this same shit with the Clutch Claw back when Iceborne released. "Lol just don't use it if you think its not pure enough." You fucking knuckle-dragging troglodyte you are at an inherent disadvantage if you choose not to use the stupid claw because the expansion was designed around it and the base game was retroactively changed to account for it. Stagger a monster? Watch as they hurl themselves 50 yards away as if to signal "Hey champ, this is the moment you're supposed to use that shiny new toy we gave you because you sure as fuck aren't following up with a melee attack anymore!"
