>>729617186Only done it once.
>>729617186only two times ever and the last one was baldur's gate 3 when it was in early access for full price.
I've refunded 3 games from this winter sale
is 1 hour and 59 minutes long enough to determine whether a game isn't worth playing?
Never, but I don't impulse buy and always do my reaserch.
>>729617186i tried to refund cp2077 and got denied.only time i tried.
>>729617186i never do it these days because i refuse to fall victim to hype and research and game before commiting to the buy. Wish i would have the same mindset when i bought Divinity 2. Biggest purchase regret of my life god it was boring as shit.
>>729617467No but you can find out if it runs like shit or not at least
>>729617186I bought a game the day before it went on sale. I was a bit annoyed so I took a chance and requested a refund, I didn't even bother to lie I told them I wanted one so I could buy it again but this time on sale. They okayed it and refunded me.
i dont refund games. if i buy it its because it deserves the money, if not i'm pirating it.
>>729617186if there is major issue like a bug that prevents progress in a game, I do refund. Case and point: Drowned God
I refunded a pack of games once because it was part of two different deals and it turned out that the one I bought didn't include the discount for the games I already owned in it, then I rebought them in the other pack. Aside from that I don't normally do refunds because I don't buy games that look like they might be shit.
I've refunded 6 or 7 games since I started using steam in 2019, and it's been about 4 years since the last timeI don't buy a lot of games and usually I only buy things I'm fairly confident I'll enjoy. Dragon's Dogma 2 was the worst exception, I let my friends hype me into buying that and I really wish I hadn't, but I'm never getting those 70 bucks back
>>729617337 Same. I refunded The Order: 1886 right after finishing it in one sitting. Yeah, it was technically under 2 hours and technically still in the refund window. No regrets, felt like an overpriced tech demo.
Twice. I remember seeing some kingdom builder game. Just tripped over it while browsing youtube. Didn't watch too much otherwise I wouldn't have got it. All ya do is run left or right and press down. Wasn't the elaborate decision making game I thought. The second game was No Man's Sky. Past that I've been pretty happy with whatever I pick up.
>>729617694and you bought it again ? Can you even do that ?
>>729617186Two.>Battleborn on release (it ran like shit)>Tabletop Simulator (plans didn't work out)I wish I could refund Undertale. I couldn't so I deleted it from my account without getting a refund. By far the worst $10 I ever spent. The memory of getting tricked into playing it by /v/ still pisses me off.
>>729617186For myself? NoneFor everytime I've accidentally purchased a game for myself when I was trying to send a gift? Like ten or so times.
When you refund a game, you only get the license to play it revoked, right? You still get your game files on your disk, no?Then assuming it doesn't has Denuvo, I can just apply goldberg emulator and it will work again, yes?
>>729617186darktide, i knew it wasn't going to be good but wasn't expecting it to be shit
>>729618942yes, but at that point just go to cs.rin and download the clean steam files
>>729618942steam uninstalls but if you make a backup then yes
>>729617186Never did, because i always pirate the games before buying.
>>729619000darktide is fun what are you talking about
>>729617186All the time, if I have even a minor inconvenience with the game I refund and then pirate it so everyone gets fucked over
>>729617186i only buy a game if i'm positive that i'll like it and i'm not poor so if i don't end up liking it it's not a big deal
>>729617694I am pretty sure the refund policy is unconditional. Its just a two week return period. I think the ACCC just applied the principles of retail return periods but went lol this has no influence on your stock unlike retail who can't just return the item to inventory if its been peed on or whatever so fuck you, you don't get to add stipulations. If someone wants their money back within two weeks you give them their fucking money back. That's the law dickhead. Then valve would have had to roll it out globally or all kinds of fucky things would have happened.
>>729617694Yeah they even say that in the FAQ.
>>729619206>I am pretty sure the refund policy is unconditionalif you use your steam bux you can refund as much as you want, but if you use your credit card they'll tell you to fuck off if you refund too much
>>729619660Has this happened to you? I use steam like a community library and I haven't gotten so much as a warning.
>>729617467Sometimes not but at least you can feel the vibes and how it runs
>>729617186Almost neverNever had to on steam since I only buy things I know I can run and will playPhysically though I only done it when the games were delivered damaged or gamestop when the games didn't work
Just refunded this utter shite
>>729617186Maybe once or twice a year, if at all.
>>729617186last time I refunded was some indieshit, it turned out to be ass and I got a refundmy playtime was well over 2 hours, but they saw no problem with that
>>729617186During sales nearly never, outside of sales around 60% of the time.
>>729617530How many hours did you play it for?
>>729617186Never since I don't buy them in the first place.
Never, I am not some idiot who does impulse purchase
>>729617186Half of all games I buy I refund. About 75% of the shit I get on Amazon I refund too. And about half of all non-food in general gets refunded. Sometimes you just want a free rental.
>>729621635Just pirate shit at this point dude. Hell you can rent games from the library too man. This is pathetic
>>729621331I only impulse buy on steam because I know of the refund policy. Ended up with some surprisingly great games that I might not have bought if I browsed the reviews or gameplay videos first.
If it's a bad experience within the first 2 hours, then I refund.
>>729617186All the time if a game doesn't have a demo. The 2 hours is the demo and if I like it enough to want to keep going I play on and if I don't I return it.
>>729617186I rarely buy games, so not very often. Last game I refunded was Dragon's Dogma 2.
>>729621854I check out games from the library all the time. But fucking with Amazon/Costco/Walmart/Best Buy with refunds provides a catharsis I can't find elsewhere. Why pirate when I can maliciously comply?
>>729622107Yeah okay that's kind of based, but I just imagine that's more effort than it's worth when you can just pirate stuff
all the time, that "you have refunded a lot recently you bad boy" message is in every single message. They're not going to do shit though.
>>729617186Monster Hunter Wilds because the game was a piece of shit and it ran like ass on my machine.Probably going to wait until it goes on 75% off and it works properly in 4k.
>>729617186Haven't done it yet.Usually I research before making a purchase and stick with my decision.
>>729617186>play a game>it's fucking shit>you bought it over 3 years ago and can't refund itPlay the games you buy, anons.
>>729617186Not often. But I will if it's clearly bullshit. Last game I refunded was KSP 2 almost immediately
>>729617467I refunded Wonder boy and the dragon's trap because I thought it was unfun garbage after 90 minutes. Also refunded that l4d warhammer game because it ran at 4fps on my machine. I do gotta compliment steam because I find they're pretty lenient on the refunds.
>>729617186ive refunded twice in 10+ years because i'm a patient gamer.
Only one, Cyberpunk. I got it on sale in I want to say April or May. Didn't get the hype. Got a full refund. I'm becoming more jaded and blackpilled with these Triple A games being boring/shitty.I wish people would learn but apparently everyone's a full time dumpster diver
>>729617186Never did, I only buy games when I know it's good stuff or so cheap that I won't even care.
>>729622271I was on a 28 day vacation to Norway and purchased two 3,000 dollar gaming laptops for my wife and I. We used them on the trip to game and such then returned them for a full refund when we got back. Fuck these companies for ruining the country and zucking up all the wealth.
>>729617186Depends on the game and how long I played it.If it's a shitty buggy mess then guaranteed less than 30 mins of playtime
>>729617186Once because it was shit and I played for less than 2 hours.
Can buy a refund again later ?
>>729617186not much because i barely buy new games anywaysi do tend to refund them if it turns out they play like shit though
>>729617186>buy this for me and friend as a joke for his birthday>mine downloads do the initial section it's literally just a shittier lego game but everyone has a gun>friend has shit internet so I go off to cook gumbo>accidentally get to 3 hour mark>buddy can run warhammer total war 3 just fine but fucking funko fusion is apparently too much for his computer>explain situation to steam>they give me a refund for both of our games :)
>>729618825Yeah. I'm pretty sure that's in their refunds FAQ. If you buy a game and within 2 weeks it goes on sale you can send a request and they grant it.
I refunded DJMax V a while ago. But then I got the game again from a Humble Bundle.
This piece of shit. Never trusting anything again whose only splash screen is an ad for the state of Georgia.
>>729617186I pirate everything. Also you could probably lol it by buying the game, saving the files, refunding it and then cracking that but that's too much effort.
>>729619004I've had games that I was interested in only to find out they were non-existent on the forum or anywhere else for that matter, fake buying them always felt too scummy so I never did it though.
refunded Peak, was supposed to play with IRL friends and they kept going on ahead without me, played a few sessions solo, fell asleep and refunded that shit
>he rents digital licenses with his hard earned money>he doesnt protest and pirate all his games Imagine if steam was founded in a non cuck country, like russia, poland, belarus such as GOGLMAO we'd already have ownership if that was the case. Fuck the US. If you "buy" games on steam you support the US and digital retarded copyright.
>>729617694You don't need to lie or tell your actual reason for doing so. Ever. It's just choosing whatever option you want and clicking submit. As long as it hasn't been over two weeks since you bought and haven't played it for longer than two hours you're good.
>>729629443Are you retarded enough to believe digital reselling would be a thing? Functionally all that separates steam and gog is the Goldberg crack
>>729629596If I dont own it, I'm not buying it with my own money, shrimple as that. I'm not paying money for it if I dont own it.
I attempted to refund black ops 3 uber jew edition, but they denied it.I did refund the newest lego star wars collection because it was just meh, and assassins creed 4 because it literally didn't work for me.
Sometimes I buy games just to give them negative reviews then instantly refund.
>>729625280Based. Fuck Mr. Blow and his shitty games.
>>729617337same, refunded a puzzle game after it tried to force a bullshit story down my throat
>>729631595Was it Void Stranger?
>>729617186Very rarely, I refunded the Isle when I realized it wouldn't run on my pc.
>>729631645Nah, it was https://store.steampowered.com/app/1202900/Assemble_with_Care/I gave it a shot despite the red flags in the hopes that it would have more in-depth item disassembly, but I was disappointed
>>729617186Refunded Death Stranding after 1 hour
>>729626373Are you retarded? If you ever buy the same game again from anywhere they will make sure you will never even able to use Steam again, they will hunt down and your family and your dog, rape your gf and destroy everything dear to you.
About 3-6 times a year. I should do it more. But I rarely buy games I want to buy on steam itself since alternative key stores are normally cheaper, both legit and grey market ones.
