I have switch 2 but I only play Mario Kart on it

okay. thanks for the thread.

Nah, the deck is a paper weight. Plus it’s poorly optimized and just an overall unpolished avenue to play games on the go. Nintendo might not be perfect but they spend a lot more attention to quality and polish than Valve or Linux. You never have to boot up a game on Switch 2 and wonder if it will run or not. Meanwhile games that are “deck certified” still don’t run a lot of the time. And I know this is subjective but Nintendo just has a certain soulful quality to it that Valve can’t touch

Just use the PC you're on right now to play video games. Why the fuck would you need a portable, shittier PC with worse resolution and framerate?

No. The deck is ancient at this point.
>>
What do you want to play?

You totally dont get the point of it. It's not a product for someone as retarded as you. Stick with your Nintendo. I'm sure they'll release a new Labo for you soon...

I've had the Steam Deck since it came out, I usually take it with me for long vacations.
Things I like
>It's as powerful as a PS4
>It's a good emulation machine
>You can easily swap out the SSD for more storage
>There's pretty solid support for most games
>The dock is very small, so it's great to bring for parties
>While it's probably on par with the Switch 2, steam always has sales or you could just pirate games
>It's a PC so you can swap to desktop mode if you want to
>You can connect any controller to it via usb or bluetooth
Things I don't like
>The battery life is OK. YMMV depending on the games you play of course
>It's pretty bulky
>It can get a little hot sometimes
>Because of its battery life, I sometimes run games at 30-40FPS to preserve battery life

Uh oh, Snoy meltie

Wait for the next gen Deck

I think the existing and continuously expanding game library with actual affordable games is its biggest selling point out of all of those points.
>>
>>729620245
I carry it to my beach house, for gaymen while away from home runs perfectly, i'm testing next time how Overwatch runs on it

you have any experience with vika3k on yours?
>>
>>729619075
I only have Switch 1 and that's good enough, but get the Steam Deck, it's and awesome play it more than I play on my PC.
>>
>>729619693
I game on PC and the Deck looks okay but the Switch 2 just looks and feels great. Everything about the buttons and triggers to the screen just seems better. The biggest issue with the Deck is having to jerry rig a game to possibly work at 20 fps and hope it doesn't crash.

Lol

If you've waited this long, might as well wait for the 'eck 2.

Vita3k itself is an absolute dogshit emulator. Even chinkhelds aren't really held back by their hardware when it comes to vita emulation, it's just the emulator itself is terrible.

Why not the ASUS ROG Ally?

Good summary. I rarely play anything that was released in the last decade, and when I do, it's never anything hardware intensive (Silksong, for example). So I don't usually run into issues with battery life and heat. I won't deny that the Deck is bulky, but I appreciate that it doesn't make my hands go numb like some smaller handhelds.

>>729619075
Yes if you have a fatty Steam library with games that work on it. Some games work fine with a tweak, some will say they don't work but they do.
>>
>>729628356
Damn, well there's ports, but it would be nice to just be able to play muramasa rebirth...

This is for my partner who wants to play Sims 4, Stardew, possibly Hades with sitting at a PC

Retarded shills have to make their money somehow anon.
>>
I bought one this time last year but returned it because Switch 2 and RTX 50 series were on the horizon and it seemed like a retarded amount to spend on gaming within a small frame even though I can easily afford it but after once again getting a fuckhuge bonus that dwarfs all the money I spent in the last year which reminded me that money isn't real and you can just spend whatever you want and nothing bad ever happens so I'm thinking of buying one again.
