You can't really raise new game prices and still sell people on DLC day one when you have the game of the year being priced like a PS2 era game while being of similar quality, a full release like Silksong being exceptional quality and $20 + having its future DLC be free of charge, and you have a full indie market now with tons of choice and lower prices plus basically the entire last 40 years of games to compete with. Shitting on dudes for not wanting ugly bitches and californian politics shoved down their throats is a big cherry on the shit sundae, but this probably would have happened even if they didn't start going full california mode in the 2010s.
