>want to replay bloodborne
>remember that the game immediately goes downhill after the first area and goes to shit from the woods level onwards
Not enough people talk about how front loaded this game is
>>
>>729627771
Iunno, I thought it was consistently fun the whole way through
But I also loved chalice dungeons
>>
>>729627771
do i have to get the mod that disables facegen if i dont want the fucked up vertexs randomly popping in
>>
>>729627771
>want to replay bloodborne
>remember that the game is old as fuck and I'll have to sit in random spots for upwards of half an hour in order to get some fun coop in
That's my problem with it.
>>
>>729627771
Not enough people talk about how the second half of the game is just randomly warping to different areas.
The world design wasn't incredible to begin with but at least it logically connected, at some point they just gave up.
Also I hate how they implemented chalice dungeons. Super repetitive and they're not well-integrated into the main quest, there's no good sense of when you're supposed to do them if ever. From my experience the chalice dungeons also tended to have super low blood vial drop rates compared with the main areas, so you could lose your way into a corner and then be fucked if you decided to leave.
>>
>>729627771
I think the only truly weak areas were Nightmare Frontier and the Church Workshop but Cainhurst, Upper Cathedral Ward, Research Hall and Fishing Hamlet all needed to be bigger since they feel too small.
>>729627960
I wish the beginning of Cathedral Ward was less linear since being forced to beat the BSB just to get access to LHB, and multiple other areas is lame.
>>
>>729627771
You're supposed to do chalice dungeons, silly.
That's the true way to return to it.
>>
>>729627771
it kind of picks back up after you kill the one reborn but its still not as good
also the dlc is a meme outside of its bosses but this just how every souls game is
>ds1 is shit after anor londo
>ds2 is shit after drangleic
>ds3 is shit after irithyll
>elden ring is abysmal dogshit after leyndell capital
>>
>>729629026
Locking the main gate to the rest of the ward with a 10,000 echoes item is easily the worst design decision in the game.

Yahargul or however you spell it is one of the worst areas in Fromsoft history but god DAMN is that skyline fucking rad as FUCK
>>
>>729629238
DS3 is shit before Irithyll too
>>
>>729627909
Well yeah man you're playing a 10 year old PVE game for the pvp.

>fighting Ludwig
>nothing but getting 1 shot or 2 shot

>janky hitboxes
I never noticed how cheap and unbalanced he was until I fought him at BL4.
>>
>>729627771
Yeah, I agree. The later levels are mostly shit and it's a shame because the Yharnam levels are some of From's best, and they showcase the mechanics quite well. I prefer DS3 overall because it at least has consistently good level design and better bosses

Don’t care, the ayys are kino
>>
>>729629238
DS2 is just shit level after shit level after you finish the first 'route' early in the game, and DS3 is not worse after Irithyll. This is forced bullshit to justify your facile narrative

I'll give you DS1 and ER though
>>
>>729627771
That's not true all, BB is consistently good throughout. I think you probably just don't like the game very much. Central Yharnam is a particularly good starting area but it never goes "downhill".
>>
>>729627839
Same but saying that doesn't get a thread started as easily.
>>
>>729627771
>Not enough people talk about how front loaded this game is
because it's not true.
>>
>>729627771
Having that fucking baby crying in your ear constantly after you kill the meme spider boss should easily be considered one of From's worst design choices of all time and yet no one talks about it
>>
>>729632276
what are you talking about? It's there for just that "moon lowering" cutscene and then never heard again until you slay the Wet Nurse.
>>
>>729632519
Stop gaslighting me
>>
>>729633068
I think I would have remembered a baby crying sound effect after three playthroughs.
>>
>>729627960
Yeah the game shits itself once you have to go through the Nightmare sections. Before that it started to somewhat feel like early DaS. Central connected to the Cathedral Ward which connected to Old Yharnam, which connected to Yahargul/Hypogean Gaol and all of that connected back to the clinic from the Forbidden Woods and so on. But once you have to go to the Frontier and start the Red Moon its just a linear sprint to One Reborn and you're practically done with the game. Upper Cathedral Ward should've been way bigger. There should've been more sections of Yharnam as a city I mean c'mon its supposed to be late 1800's London which had like millions of people in it.

Byrgenwerth also should have been bigger, a sprawling university with lecture and study halls to enter, labs devoted to alchemy, the Old Ones, chemistry, but instead its just one goddamn building. I love the game but its clear with resources being split between DaS2 and 3 that they didn't fully realize what could've been an even better game than it is now.

Bloodborne is good all the way through. There isn't a single bad part.
>>
>>729633897
When you kill the first boss just use all the souls to buy up blood vials then do that again like 3x and you're probably golden for the rest of your playthrough as you'll collect more along the way. I've played through BB several times and I've always found it more useful to invest in blood vials early on ahead of levelling up. Plus they are cheaper in the beginning too.
>>
>>729631891
You’re spitting facts, anon. It’s like people just parrot this take about DS3 falling off post-Irithyll without remembering how consistently tight the level design stays. Sure, Profaned Capital isn’t peak Fromsoft, but the Dreg Heap and Ringed City DLC absolutely slap. Meanwhile DS2 turns into a clown fiesta after Iron Keep and never recovers. Shrine of Amana still gives me PTSD.

Also wild how no one ever throws shade at BB’s Nightmare Frontier for being poison swamp hell 2.0 with no real payoff.

>>729629238
>ds3 is shit after irithyll
ds3 is shit after cemetary of ash
fucking awful dogshit game
>>
>>729633897
It's so frustrating that DS1 fixed that issue with the estus flask and then they went back to healing with consumables in their next two games.
>>
>>729627850
Seconding this question. I want to play on PC but I don't want to play if I can't make my own custom character.

BB is my favorite game and I still hate that shit

>I also loved chalice dungeons
Based. I love them. There is unlimited new things practice weapons and strategies on. Also the bloodgem gacha can be fun if you're offline.
It's the most bullshit too. They're too hard sometimes.
>>
>>729634250
see to me it doesn't make sense in a rpg or action game sense. In an action game sense you want to focus on the combat so it being replenished is a given. For rpg, it would work as a survival mechanic if not for the bonfire system since it more or less worked with DeS, though they found people just horded or farmed healing items. Which is why they started being replenishable and have checkpoints in DS1 but randomly have it again in BB.

If they don't use a bonfire system it would be fun going out in the world and have to temper your heal usage but because you can respawn enemies at regular interval checkpoints, it's just a menial task you'll have to do once in a while

I'm not really defending it, I'm just offering advice on how I've usually overcome it. I, too, prefer the elegant system of Dark Souls 1.

My first priority in Bloodborne is to get my blood vial storage up to like 150+ then I start leveling up (not counting weapon upgrades). The sawblade and the axe are powerful enough starter weapons, so you don't really need to worry about leveling up to use a specific weapon early on anyway.
>>
>>729629247
just go around
>>
>>729629247
Literally the exact same thing happens in Dark Souls 1 and both games have a route where you can go around it.
>>
As far as blood vials go I just buy them. Skip to the Forbidden Woods, beat Rom, and then beat Gascoigne. Cheap ass blood vials for the rest of the playthrough.
>>
Tech support, help.
I got Pthumerian Elder down to half health and he yeeted himself out of the map. It's been 5 minutes and nothing is happening. I don't wanna give up on the run...

Does this happen a lot in chalice dungeons?
>>

>>
>>729634581
>>729627850
Yeah get that mod otherwise there are still vertex explosions. Plays fine with it tho 40+ hours no issues
>>
>>729634936
Bloodborne's entire healing system starts to make sense or doesn't, when you remember it was meant to be a sequel to Demons Souls. The warp graves in the Hunters Dream would be similar to Archstones and Blood Vials work similarity to grass.
