A few years ago, India was barely a blip on the radar outside of mobile shovelware, but now you’ve got legit indie devs popping off with original stuff and even a few AA-tier studios putting out solid games. Still a ways to go before it’s on par with Japan or Western devs, but the groundwork is being laid. If they keep building talent and stop chasing only gacha money, they might actually become a major player.

>>729628701I feel like Indians are jumping the gun a bit by going global too early. Chinese games were awful, but it stayed domestic while they worked out the problems. Then when they were confident enough to put out good stuff globally, they did. Ruining first impressions doesn't help. I believe Indians can get there, but they gotta check their ego first. They can make a pretty cool CGI trailer but the looks of it, but a game is a whole other beast.
