The Frogwares games Crimes and Punishments (good deduction system that lets you solve the cases wrong, or absolve the culprits à la The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton) and vs Jack the Ripper (good atmosphere, plot-relevant puzzles that I think hit the sweet spot in terms of complexity, feels authentic in e.g. using mostly historical documents as evidence besides some made-up evidence that allows you to narrow the list of suspects down to one historical suspect)

Now, he very well might have been the Ripper, being one of the top historical suspects after all (in the Frogwares game the culprit is a historical one you can find on Ripperology sites, but not one of the popular candidates you'd find in e.g. Wikipedia), but I wouldn't pay much credence (not literally zero, but he's the likely culprit mostly for the reasons he was so historically) to the recent books just because they allege have "DNA evidence" in them. Dozens of books have been written because they sell, and they would also have presented prima facie plausible conclusions yet all but one of them must be wrong, and these recent results weren't suspected to peer-review; one might wonder why. I checked Wikipedia to make sure I got the name right and as of this year there's been legal moves to exhume Kosminski. THAT might allow usual legal standards for evidence to be reached.

That's a different Jew from the one with supposed DNA evidence. And supposing Holmes solves the case (and it would be a pretty poor detective game if he didn't), a conclusion along those lines was necessary because the game tries to be as historical as it can (this is also why Holmes investigates incognito), and since the culprit was in fact not historically caught!
