I think while discussing endings everyone forget that it was explicitly mentioned that every painter put a fraction of his soul into their paintings, and you literally meet fractured Verso's soul who is tormented by constantly drawing this wretched world. Basically Verso's ending is when P-Verso stops fractured Verso soul from drawing and let him find peace. This alone should convince everyone that Maele ending is cursed and absolutely no go: behind Maele's utopia world there's a tormented Verso soul who not only forced to constantly draw in his wretched state but also watching his sister who he sacrifice himself for to slowly die.

I finished it last week. I have a surprisingly little amount of things to say about it. It was predictable, the gameplay was a slog and the dialogue wasn't very good. I could see why normalfags liked it but it really doesn't hit unless its like the first game you've ever played. Forgettable all around desu.

To me it's what Nier Automata would feel like if it had only endings C or D, without ending E.They could have made an interesting ending where you choose to destroy the Canvas as Maelle, but at a later point (in 33 painting-years or some shit? Paint the number on the monolith again?). Give the painting niggas a chance to live out their lives.Hell, make the player delete their save file too, that would make a lot of sense for the story they're trying to tell.
