RuneScape 3 is at an all time low in terms of its player count. I feel like this trend is going to continue until the game shuts down for good in a few years.
>>
i think the main reason why jagax is so intent on ruining runescape is because they are insecure about the fact that they bought a game so beloved from a small dev team, a dream come true to work on something so great, and yet were struck with the reality that nothing THEY did with it was ever loved, it shattered their fantasy that they were now the "owners" of this product and thus in charge by making them realize they never made the beloved parts and it created a sense of inadequacy that led to anger

i think it's the same thing that happened with minecraft, and why mojang are REALLY removing notch from everything they can
sure there's the public excuse of "he's a baaaaad maaaan" but that's just to appease the public who won't complain if his name is erased from his work, but their real reason, the internal emotional reason, is that they're upset that they can't lay claim to the thing in their hands, a jewel they didn't craft and can only boast a document stating their ownership of it

The current CEO says he can see the game running for another ten years. With how sweeping the MTX removal next month is I dont know how they recoup the financial hit. He's said he is willing to take a financial hit for a few years but you have to wonder how the owners feel about that.

I thought Jagex has changed owners a few times by now?

Same thing happen to fallout

What can you even do with this? RS3 is two games merged into one, everyone picks osrs because it's one unified vision.
Every step you take in RS3 is jarring as fuck, its enemies designed for one combat system being fought with another, its lower level quests further along the timeline so you experience the world out of order, it's visually different enemies etc

Lmao! If those numbers are true on the front pages, both RS3 and OSRS have like at least double or even quadruple the number of players than they did back in the glory days.

No they dont

>>729667329
it's crazy how everything looks off
the game looks like a minecraft shader mod slapped on a mobile game made by a free subscription plan AI
the character is barely not t-posing

Wut. Back in 2006, seeing like 80k players online was a special event. Usually it was like 40k. Were you even there?
>>
>>729667329
Doubt it. Runescape Classic was kept around for a very long time with 1-2 players max on each world.

RS3's player count includes all the OSRS players online because marketing fucking hates that it's the less-popular game. You can confirm this every Monday when RS3 goes down for an update.

Oh. Well, there are still more players on average than there used to be. But Runescape has run its course in my opinion. As soon as they made every boss: "quick change prayers. now change gear. now stop and spin around three times", that's when I stopped.
>>
There are 27,000 players on RS3 currently, but these numbers are heavily inflated during the christmas event.
>>
>the most botted game of all time
>botted so hard it propped up a country's GDP
>look at the playercount!!!!
You're not convincing anyone to play this fucking trash

The good old days are long gone, friend
Now we mourn

For what it's worth OSRS is actually pretty good.

RS3 is okay at its best.
