Why do I even bother?

All the camp interactions are completely pointless.

it takes 10 minutes to even trudge out of the camp

RDR2 is especially bad for this

Not many games I know have proper food/hunger mechanics.
You either die of starvation after 5 minutes or it's irrelevant if you eat at all.

I hate how slow it is to loot an area having to watch the full range of motion of Arthur picking everything up, why wasn't there a skip animation in the settings so I can pick shit up instantly?

Stew!

>>729681458
This video always pisses me off. Why are the chef and his wife so pissed off at this guy eating the food they made him? Its not like they are a fine dining establishment. If I made someone food and they enjoyed it so much they were practically inhaling it, I would take it as a compliment.

I can't imagine it's easy to balance but some games are so far off the mark

To me it's a non complaint because if they were worth a fuck it would force me to go to camp more.
Since i'd rather be having fun in the open world i'd rather just eat and take tonics in the world.
If it they were useful you'd be complaining that you're nerfing yourself if you dont go to the "boring camp" all the time. There's no winning with you faggots
>>
>>729682113
i think it's because he didn't pay yet and he looks like a bum and acted rude because he's starving

been a long time since i watched it though
i remember watching a bunch of clint eastwood films around the same time too as i had a week where i just did nothing but watch a cowboy movie every night, sometimes two

one thing I like about zomboid is that it lets me make a big pot of milk and beer stew with extra lard.

It wouldn't even be that hard to implement hunger properly, devs just need to stop thinking of it in terms of instant starvation. Have hunger thresholds where you gradually get greater debuffs to things like movement speed, jump height, aiming (ranged weapons), damage (melee weapons), maximum stamina. Hunger should make you sluggish and weak, not make you die if you go without eating for 2 hours. You could even go as far as resting not fully recovering you, and making it recover less the more hungry you are. Don't directly deal damage to the player and make them starve to death, just make them unable to recover so they'll naturally need to eat in order to stay at peak condition and with peak recovery.

In pre-fast food craze america he dishonored the merchant (someone exalted by their "gumption") by not being clean and well dressed according to the times nor was he respectful or grateful for being served. Before the rise of walmart cultism and all that jazz it was the customer who was supposed to serve them with a smile.

It's fitting it's a cowboy video because that sort of culture where an armed society is a polite society along with the boujie roots of it's merchant class really leveraged everything towards them.

Too late, already summoned the stew demons. You know the rules, once someone even whispers about milk-beer-lard stew, the thread's doomed. Pearson's probably in the bushes watching right now, ladle in hand.

It's going to ruin the seasoning!

I bet I could live in the wild like Arthur. 200 hours in RDR2 has trained me.

because he enters the place looking like he was dragged out of a grave in the desert, dusts himself off inside the room and when the owner offers to give him a scoop of food, he takes the entire pan and eats from it while burping and loudly slurping the food

I constantly see clips of this on socials and people fawning about it saying shit like "ahh look at the man sawing the log, it individually renders each individual piece he saws off!". Meanwhile the game is the most boring shit imaginable and the characters are all unlikable.

That's how you sell a game to normalfags. GTA6 will triple down on this.

>Go for another playthrough
>Try to immerse myself with specific clothing and weapons
>Arthur grows a bear mid-cutscene
>Constantly forced to use shittier weapons than what I had on me when the mission started
>Several missions are completely broken and bugged if you have the wrong weapon equipped when you start them
>MISSION FAILED: YOU WALKED SLIGHTLY LEFT

This game genuinely fucking sucks and I really don't appreciate all the people with no real experience with video games praising it as a masterpiece.

Cast "iron" is very low carbon steel. Seasoning is a myth regardless, as the polymerized oils are super thin. Just rebake some oil after you clean it.
>>
>>729694294
>MISSION FAILED: YOU WALKED SLIGHTLY LEFT
That's one of the biggest gripes I've always had with Rockstar games. They tend to be restrictive as fuck when it comes to their objectives. Max Payne 3 is a prime example

Abiotic Factor does a pretty good job of that if you want to give it a go.
There's a variety of foods that just exist for a flat XP bonus to specific skills you'd keep on hand to chomp before doing it to maximize gains.
Then there's specific foods for goals, like increased underwater vision, interaction with a very specific creature, boring damage percent, faster stam regen, faster move speed.
All are useful enough that you're not always mass consuming the damage or stamina up ones.
