That way the more your villager likes you the more likely they will make sure the town doesn't have weeds, is maintained, sends you more premium gifts and sometimes gives you gold. Just something to make the town more lively. Villager's being more fleshed out with emotions would be nice too. I don't like that all villagers are kind instead of being different from one another.
