Do you remember beating the deadmines for the first time
>>
No, because I was horde. Wailing caverns holds a special place though
>>
>>729683521
ive done it so many times its all a blur
>>
That was like 20 years ago bro how would I remember that
>>
>>729683595
I remember crying as a kid because the tank bullied me for not having dispel magic for the sleeps on my priest.
>>
>>729683732
I remember that I kept attacking things before the tank picked them up and that's it
>>
>>729683521
the only dungeon i remember my first time doing was sunken temple, i think because it was also the first time i started the group
>>
I remember being forced to tank despite not knowing how to tank by two warriors that wanted to DPS then being told how shit of a tank I was when we wiped.
>>
>>729683521
yeah, fire mage, getting screwed on rolls because EVERYONE wanted to wear the pirate cloth gear, so the warrior tanking, and BOTH rogue DPS rolled on the buccaneers gear, and complained that me and the healer had to stop for mana.
second time was way better, group was thankful for mage water, and sheeping the casters was SUPER useful when you don't have 2 rogues sapping everything.
>>
Yes, I remember how annoying talking to people in game was like I pretended to care about their life and which food they had for the day and who they were
It really made me think
>>
>>729683521
yes it was 2 weeks ago
>>
>>729683521
yep. i was actually getting boosted by a high level warrior, but my mom called me to have lunch (i was like 10 years old) so i had to leave... but it gave me confidence to heal people (i was a druid) and later that day i did it with another group around my level. good memories
i had experience playing other mmos like star wars galaxies and ultima online, so it was a walk on the park.

WC group in the Beta as a huntard is a treasured memory
>>
I member. Maybe not the exact first time but the overall "memory" of it. being around 11-12 in 2005-2006, reading general "LFG DM" and always whisp to join. Rarely getting invited cause they probably new I was dumb kid, and Im asking for inv at probably lvl 15. then one day i get in the group and wait for everyone to meet at sential hill, everyone is under level. We link up and go to moon place, I forget the name. Following and learning how aggro works (lol) as we wipe even trying to get the instance, we get lost to in the mines. It blew my young mind away seeing just the confusing maze, mines to even get in there. Finally in fight hard to make progress, lag issues, massive skill issues, all of us. Only get half way after about three hours and we call it quits, armours broke and no gold for repairs, food, time for bed, etc. and I left with determination to see how far the dungeon goes, more attempts with groups over months and finally one day when I got to maybe lvl 20-21 I was in a group that got to ship part and I was in nerd stuck awe. We wiped, cleared the respawns back to it, wiped and disbanded. But I knew I had to finish it. Probably a week later find a group and we clear it, cookie and all. We spent probably an hour swimming around trying to find anything hidden, just being happy nerds. 11/10 moments there, probably some of most fun I've had.
>>
Yeah, when classic first launched.
>>
>>729685303
Wholesome
>>
>>729683521
I miss we can no longer go through it how it once was. Low level instances are just mindless steam rolling now.
>>
>>729685537
To be fair everybody knows what they are doing a little bit. Low level dungeons even when they were current expac with everybody knowing what to do were facerolls.
>>
The first time I entered deadmines I rolled need on that 6int 2agi ring as a rogue, so our druid healer ragequit and the group fell apart. I had people calling me a ninja for like a week after that so I just deleted that character and made a new one
>>
>>729685864
I was that druid and I rq the game and Uninstalled after this
>>
You guys remember what it was like when a rare dropped from a mob? And everyone waiting to see if someone rolls needs/ group chatting about what we should do, while watching the timer go down. And someone has to make the first roll? Lol the anxiety, whats funny is how consistently people didnt ninja. A different time
>>
>>729683595
>never rolling over to deadmines as horde
Bro that was fun as hell
>>
>>729683521
I ran Deadmines just before the nerf patch. It was my first dungeon and it drove me fucking insane even though we finished it. Good times.
>>
>>729686982
If it's a big money AH item then everyone should roll need on it. Anything else is asking for drama.

Yeah
I was rolling need on everything that dropped because my brother told me "need gets priority over greed"
and then someone screamed at me in call caps to stop needing on everything
>>
When I started in WotLK I rolled on some dead server with like no alliance players so I didn't do Deadmines until I could solo it at like level 40.

To this day I still have a chip on my shoulder over the fact that the server browser tells you absolutely dick all about the servers you're picking.
>>
>>729683521
I remember all that sweet hunter loot
>>
>>729683521

Yes I was Horde and we needed to make a special trip.
>>
>>729683521
I remember getting might's hammer, the cape, and the ring from it.

I remember thinking I was so cool for getting massive shoulders on my warrior
>>
>>729687416
ya but back then and particularly in low lvls, at least it seemed to me, no one really thought that way. it was more you can roll need if you can use it, or if it was your armor. hence the hunter meme. and the two people who can use it saying why they need it before they rolled and arguing and the other saying one deserves it more because "XYZ" then they roll need and they other guys does it too and they rage. Bonus points if it's the healer or tank that loses the roll to a dps and goes full baby mode, extra bonus points if they lost it to a hunter trying to get more int and stam, or a rouge looking for a good off hand
