Anyone gone from PC gaming to consoles and found it better?
>>
>>729684156
I like my Switch, but I wish it weren't so comparatively weak sometimes.

Luigi's Mansion 3 in 30fps is wild.
>>
Literally no one ever and it they say otherwise they're lying. Imagine paying 100$ a year to use your own internet on a worse platform with shittier graphics than you already had. Literally 0 upsides.
>>
probably some retard kid who bought a pc because his favorite streamer had it then only plays fifa and movie games
>>
>>729684242
I dunno. Been PC gaming my whole life, with some consoles when I was younger, but lately it's been looking comfy. Thinking of buying a second hand or refurb and setting it up on the TV with some drinks and snacks know what I mean
>>
I've been a PC gamer all my life but bought a PS5 and been enjoying the living room gaming experience a lot.
>>
>>729684156
that's fucking retarded
>>
>>729684793
>comfy

shut the fuck up retard
>>
>>729684156
I grew up with consoles and got my first gaming computer in 2008. Since September I’ve been playing primarily on a ps5. I bought a gaming laptop from razer in 2022 and it’s basically broken by now, I can’t justify spending 2000 dollars on a midrange pc so I guess I’ll stick to consoles.
>>
>>729684156
I haven't taken that much brain damage yet, no.
I did play on consoles back when PS3 was still a thing, but it was an awful experience back then. Performance was really bad and the console was noisy as fuck compared to my PC.
>>
i still mainly pc game but my living room has a ps5 and i use my steam deck alot when i travel or dont feel like being at my desk and my fiance uses the tv so yeah, its comfy. i barely use it unless i buy a hard copy of a new release (data on disc) since im old.
>>
>>729684156
i have a PC, PS5 and switch 2 and would absolutely pick the PC every time if I had to
>>
I've always done both. Most recently I had an Xbox One X before I built my latest and current gaming PC.
On the one hand I love the sheer amount of choice PC gaming gives you. There are so many awesome indies and AA games as well as mods etc... That you just can't get on consoles.
What I don't like is that my 'tism insists that I spend hours and hours sometimes optimising games to ensure I get the best possible fidelity/performance out of them before playing. It's like I can't actually enjoy the game unless I know it's running absolutely as well as it possibly can. I almost spend more time fucking with this stuff than playing games at times and I hate it.
That's what I like about consoles. You just push the button and go. You get what you're given and if something doesn't quite run that great, you just shrug your shoulders, start playing and in 20 minutes you've totally forgotten about it.
I probably did more gaming and had a smoother, more carefree time with it on the One X than I have relatively on the PC. But then I can't just see a video about STALKER mods and then go on an epic 3 week GAMMA binge on a games console.
I think I'd like both again. Money permitting I'll build a new pc in the near future and grab a next gen console when they drop.
AAA and arcade/story games on the big TV with the console and then PC for multiplayer and AA/indie/esoteric modpacks etc...
>>
>>729684156
No, I bought older consoles just to play exclusives that don't emulate well and as soon I was finished with them they've been collecting dust.
>>
>>729684156
Yes, I did. Fuck it. I would buy a Gabecube too but ...
>>
>>729684156
yeah over the years, I don't like sitting at desk like I'm at office and I like that the console and the games I play on it are separate from everything else. on my workstation I only play games that are ass with controller (Factorio, Noita)
>>
>>729685927
>push the button and go
Yes, I remember how I'd actually complete games on my PS3 in a few days to weeks, now I buy games and hardly ever start or if I do I restart to see if I could tinker further. literally took 4 years for my to finish Cyberpunk
>>
>>729684156
No, I'm the opposite.
I really like strategy games of all kinds and those are best played on PC.
>>
>>729686983

Yeah exactly it's a bit of a curse really. I had a similar experience with Cyberpunk on PC. I got it running and looking pretty good but literally 20 hours into the game I'm still periodically looking at it going 'hmm maybe if I turn this down and turn this up I can get a few more frames and it'll look a little better'. It's fucked up because I could have got it on the One X and played it at like 30fps. I'd have played it for 5 mins thinking 'hmm doesn't look that amazing and the fps is damn low' but then I'd have forgotten about it and played the whole game without giving it another thought.
I'll tinker for hours to get another 5fps out of a PC game with the best possible visuals and can't enjoy something if it's dipping down below 60fps but on a console I can be playing at 30fps and just get on with it because I know I'm getting the best the console can give me.
Just been playing through MCC in split screen with my old man on the One X actually. Vast swathes of the game must have been running at like 20fps. After about ten mins saying to myself 'damn this shit runs like absolute ass' I just forgot about it. Hours later we've run through Halo CE start to finish and had a blast.
I think if I could buy a console that guaranteed me a locked 60fps in every game on offer I'd probably just get that and be done with it. But then again, like I said, if I see some video where someones cooked up this awesome, game changing modpack for some game I love, I can't just fire it up on console and get playing... Need that gaming PC.
>>
>>729684156
certainly less of a hassle
every pc i've ever had (pre-built as well as my own builds) have always had issues without fail, a console just works
and if there is a problem there are millions of people out there with the exact same hardware config so easy to troubleshoot

Once you stop being a loner autist and get a job, family and friends you go back to console. Many here are forever loners though
>>
>>729684793
you can do all of that with a computer if you don't have brain damage
>>
>>729684156
hmm, yeah I like playing time crisis, point blank and HotD on console over PC
>>
>>729685238
>>729685927
>>729686983
>>729687910
>>729688365
So console is superior if you don't actually like video games but want to make it look like you do? This is some groundbreaking insight.
>>
>>729688504
I already play locally with my normalfag friend once a week.
I wish I didn't have friends so I could go back to being a loner.
>>
Only the brownest of brown poorfags would find going from a PC to a cucksole to be an upgrade
>>
>>729689161
There are obviously more casuals on consoles who only play their Call of Dafty and sports games, it doesn't mean you cant play autist games there also
>>
>>729689161
i'd say it's the opposite, console is superior if you like video games but don't care about the hardware side of things
>>
>>729689764
>i like games more because I can't control whether it performs like shit or not
You're not fooling anyone.
>>
>>729684156
I only play anything competitive or souls games on console. It takes more effort to cheat in so the matches feel way better. I'm also extremely above average on controller and only slight above average on MnK. So I get to dominate 99% of the games there. Idk how most people still suck at aiming in sticks 30 years later.

I was so glad I jumped into Elden Ring on PS5. I can't imagine having to get cucked by those fags with that one mod that disables invasions. I got to invade to my heart's content.
>>
>>729684156
No I tried but I spent around 400 hours total between ps3, ps4, switch, ps5 and 150 of those hours were RDR2 on release, and 200 were Monster Hunter World on release. neither of which I could ever do again, the loading times were INSANE compared to PC.

Trying to sell my ps5 and switch for a high discount to a family who needs it but its hard there are so many scummy re-sellers and I just want to give someone a deal
>>
>>729684156
Steam Deck was the perfect compromise for me.
>>
>>729689839
i literally don't care about that, i used to game on an ancient shitty pc at sub-20 fps, if it manages a steady 30 fps i'm fine with it
anything else is graphics faggotry
>>
>>729689906
more like the cheating is built in
>>
>>729689839
>>729689764
>>729690034
I used to be like that as a teen and then Neet, but now since I can buy my own shit I really can't settle for 20 fps lol.
But yeah I used to raid in original wow and tbc at like, gotta be 5 fps
>>
>>729684156
I only boot up my console if it's more trouble than it's worth to get an emulator up and running on my PC
>>
>>729690063
If everyone has aim assist no one has aim assist. But that's the only excuse mouse fags have when they get destroyed by a better player on a more difficult input device. I play with it off anyways. It's only useful if you're playing against MnK shitters in a game with ridiculous amounts of movement. Otherwise it gets in the way and slows me down.
>>
>>729690130
totally get that, i could afford a gaming pc nowadays as well but i just don't see the point, there are so few new games worth playing these days, i have a laptop anyway that's more than capable of running indie games and older stuff
>>
>>729689161
I think what some anons are saying is that due to the lack of "customization" you are forced to just accept whatever is given to you and actually play the game.
It's like on PC there's this whole thing to some people where a 30 fps game is "unplayable", but on console you just go through anyway because that's how everyone is playing. This depends on the person, of course.
>>
>>729684242
games are sometimes cheaper and can be bought used so it evens out.
>>
>>729684156
yup
got this beauty recently
holy gaming
>>
>>729690824
>this
>>
>>729684242
i dont play any online games anyway and i have a pc and a ps5
>>
>>729684156
Consoles will always be supplemental for me. Any wide release 3D game should be played on PC if available.
>>
>>729684156
i definitely find it easier to focus on the game when on console
on pc i always end up alt tabbing
sure people use their phones on consoles but you can always just put it across the room
>>
>>729684156
Spent my youth on PC. Geforce 2,3, Radeon 9700, Geforece 6800. Got tired of pc bullshit after a SLI build for Crysis. Went to 360/PS3 and actually played more games. Still play mostly console. Have a work laptop with a 5070 but only have games older than most of V on it.

Seeing how most of the PC master race online is brownoids and the only feature I'm missing out on is ray tracing literally no reason to come back.
>>
>>729684156
PC+handheld = master race
>>
A console is just a PC with 99% of the features removed.
>>
>>729697395
i can do all of those things on a 5th gen i5 laptop though
its just better value unless you really need a powerful pc
>>
>>729697395
I have a PS5 pro for modern and demanding games, PC for the rest. There's no reason to own a high end gaming PC nowadays if you don't play online multiplayer. People that say a computer is more useful don't understand console owners already have a PC, so buying dedicated hardware for games makes more sense, especially if you have your computer in your study/office room, and your tv in another room. I wouldn't buy another PC or move it around my house like a retard.
>>
>>729694048
>the only feature I'm missing out on is ray tracing l
obvious larp. but why?
>>
>>729684925
There is nothing stopping you from connecting a PC to a TV, you lying moron.
>inb4 I don't know wireless keyboards and mice exist
