>forces you to savescum
who cares nerd
what a retarded fucking enemy, how the hell did cliff racers become so notorious when this was in the game
>>729689526Simply restore your attributes with a cheap spell or at a shrine.
>>729689924how am I supposed to walk to a shrine when my legs stop working
>>729689526I'm going to rape your corpse
>>729689996Almsivi intervention, try harder
>>729689996If you are completely stuck, then yes you should load your save. You are expected to "save scum" somewhat in old games. You could also use the console if you want. Don't like it? Email Todd.
>>729689526>complaining about savescumming in a game where you have to press T to wait for an hour every time you go to a shop and stand in front of the shopkeeper so that your character being very slightly tired after running to the place doesn't cause a massive barter skill debuff and worse haggling RNG
>>729689526unironically skill issue
>>729690536literally
are there any games that cause a current status affect to be retroactively applied to previous saves? so it cant be avoided
>>729689924>*You failed to cast the spell*you are now out of magic, what now?
>>729689526>not buying/crafting all the utility spells you need as soon as you get to Balmora
>>729691006All Ubisoft AAA games of the last 15 years. That entire corporation forgot how a game is saved, and so their games save almost nothing. Play Watch_Dogs and drive to a mission location with a motorcycle from the back entrance at 1 AM carrying an empty gun. Use some character skill points to unlock some perks. Two ingame hours later load the latest autosave and you are standing at the front entrance that you've never visited, your motorbike has vanished, your ammo is reset to full, the time is 3 AM and your character has a perk unlocked that wasn't unlocked at the time the save was made.
>>729691160idk, load game? post on /v/eddit about it? dilate? so many options
>>729689996Either teleport like that other anon said, or drop everything you own, go back to town, restore your attributes and pick up some restore strength potions so this doesn't happen to you again. Or bring some sujamma along to boost your strength temporarily.
>>729690323Do people really play without having a near permanent obscenely high + fatigue/second buffs from constantly making fatigue potions out of all the random foodstuff you find around? Waiting for stamina seems so stupid when every house has everything you need to make 50 of them.
>>729689605Cliff racers pissed me off because I wasn't making contact
>>729689605Cliff racers are just the zubats of Morrowind
>>729691364Damn that seems shitty. but I was meaning more like op pic were they give a game changing debuff and you go to reload but you find out the debuff is on each save for that character. it would be extremely lame to do, but im curious if any game has done something like that before
>>729689605Cliff racers are faster then your average PC when you come across them. They also glitch and will "suddenly" appear from on top of you after having dropped down 500ft from the height they were at when they reached your location, usually more then one at the same time. People would attempt to run, get ran down then have no stamina to fight them and then die.
>>729691842I'm scared now.
>>729689526HE KILLED ME I CANT RELOAD OR ELSE IM A CHEATER OR SOMETHING?!???!
>>729691574The thing is, the entire fatigue system in Morrowind seems to be a developer miscommunication based on multiple levels of misunderstading stamina in Daggerfall. Back then it was the character's total amount of energy for the day. Once you are out, you pass out. When you sleep, you gain it. Doing things drains it.In Morrowind they made it drain much faster and regenerate on its own, and made sleep have no effect. But because traversal is so slow especially in early game, the fatigue being tied to all skills means that the player and ONLY the player is always debuffed in every single encounter with every single entity in the game. Nothing else ever travels to you to attack you, you always travel to them and start all encounters and skill checks when fatigued, always against opponents with full stamina.Nobody thought about this system when it was designed, and so just for basic gameplay, be it melee combat, healing spells, picking locks or bartering, the Nereverine has to incessantly chug his goddamn sports drinks. Or spend 150,000 drakes on a pair of pants that have a 10% chance of making him never have to do that again when he puts them on.
>not saves cumming
>>729690263>You are expected to "save scum" somewhat in old games.this is just a fancy way of saying "it's possible to fail" which is just sad that this is a foreign concept to /v/ babies
>>729692568I actually wonder... is it even possible to fail quests in Skyrim? Or do they all just have some fallback completion state?
>>729689924>spellI'm not gay, sorry
>>729692491I actually wonder whether they expected the player to walk everywhere instead of running
>>729689526>>729689996Why are you going adventuring without being properly prepared?Always have potions and scrolls that restore abilities and have some divine/almsivi interventions to quickly get to temples.
>>729692491you have a point but let me counter it with thissimply WALK before engaging an enemy or eat some fucking bread
so what's the yellow bar top of my hp when I enter combat? looked into the manual for it but it doesn't say what it is
>>729692491>NOOOOOOOO I'VE STARTED THIS FIGHT WITH ONLY 98% STAMINA INSTEAD OF 100% HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME I MADE MY MISTAKES GOT NOWHERE TO RUN THE NIGHT GOES ON AS I'M FADING AWAYCould you be any more of a whining faggot than this? Nigga it's not the end of the world. Shhhhhhhh the mudcrab isn't gonna hurt you.
>>729693675>Shift W>Left mouseDo /v/irgins really think gaming should be more than that?
>>729689526unc games do be like that
>no intervention scrolls>no safe mark spot>no restore strength potions >no restore attribute spells>doesn't just offload enough shit to get out
>>729689526First few times they're annoying, yea, but you just carry restore strength potions with you and they stop mattering.
man i think i'm gonna reinstall my morrowind mods for another playthrough. for some reason it has a better sense of adventure than skyrim or oblivion, at least before you get retarded OP
>>729694085The zoomies crave unc games. They just don't realize it
>>729689526 if you're not killing these niggers instantly by the time you encounter them then you're playing it wrongyou should be flying around the map with a custom spell by this point
I just chug sujamma.
>>729693790Enemy health
>>729689526So I downloaded this game the other day and how the fuck do you dodge? Or even block? I couldn't wrap my head around the combat in this game, it can't be this basic, right? You're not meant to just facetank, right? Uncs said this game was fire.
>>729694956Dodge is based on agility and luck, blocking is based on your block skill and is done automatically as long as you're not holding a two-handed weapon
>>729694956>how the fuck do you dodgeYou press S when the enemy swings.
>>729689526Fuck you op. Just because you are a massive faggot I am going to play Morrowind like a perma death roguelike and I will never use spells or (((daedric equiptment))). You are retarded.
>>729694956Get good, literally, you level your stats. Unarmored is how you dodge but wearing armor reduces how many pieces of not armor you are "wearing" and so reduces your dodge chances.
>>729695050So you literally just plant yourself in front of an enemy and let your stats do all the work? Wtf, this doesn't sound right
>>729695137Guess how I know you're playing OpenMW. You did not play the game.
>>729693273You run everywhere in real life, asshole?
>>729694956Save this bait for the next OP. It's the only way to make a MW thread that actually lives longer than 10 replies
>>729695241You're retarded.
>>729695234Well, do you automatically win every single fight, or do you get shitstomped like most newbs? Not so simple then, is it?
>>729690323Never done this ever.
>>729689526You have plenty of options:>don't get hit>restore attributes>drop items>consider your reduced stats a death and reload to the beginning of the dungeon
>>729691160Buy the cheapest mana potion if you're so worried about accidentally landing in the range where you don't have enough to reset your gauge.
>>729695389>>>>>he doesn't knowKEK you can't physically dodge attacks in vanilla Morrowind you bumbling retard, not even by backing away. You did not play the game.
>>729695505I never did this but it is technically leaving money on the table.
Hardcore max difficulty no reload vanilla toddclasses only morrowind is actually fun as heck.
>>729692491Just make some constant effect restore fatigue jewelry or whatever. Yeah, it's annoying af early game, but a complete non-issue later on. Which is how a lot of old games were designed.
>>729692491Untrue actually. You can kite heavily armoured npc enemies and they will run down their own stamina closing the gap.
>>729692491>the fatigue being tied to all skills means that the player and ONLY the player is always debuffed in every single encounteri highly encourage you to make an unarmed stamina drainer build if you believe this is trueturning the game's greatest weapon against itself is some cathartic shit>alternatively just make a drain fatigue weapon enchantment or something because fists do like 1 damage a hit
A question for Morrowind experts. Is aggroing the Hands of Almalexia literally the hardest fight in the entire game? I'm not even sure if that fight is winnable at all without some massive cheese like alchemy abuse.
>potionless>spelless
>>729696929>without some massive cheese like alchemy abuse.they're literally wearing armor enchanted by a fallen demigod, anonwhat's fair is fair
>>729696929there are many forms of cheesebut maybe you can do it just with full custom const effects (strength, maybe agi, maybe weapon/armor skill idk what's strongest), also restoration buffs, there is no limit to how many buffs you can put on yourself with some mana potionsit's hard to say where it all becomes cheese thoughdrain speed and burden could possibly immobilise them also
>>729689996Hey kid, they tell you on the loading screens to keep scrolls of Almsivi intervention with you at all times.
I always pick up an Amulet of Mighty Blows pretty early in my games. The trader in Caldera has one. It's a super nice utility item to have for situations like this. You probably won't be able to take your full load, but you should be able to carry a weapon and a few potions for a while.
>>729697864Intervention takes you outside the temples, which doesn't help if you can't walk inside to the altar
>>729698983>drop stuff>go and get healed>???>profit
>>729698983Drop your stuff on the ground until your weight is low enough that you can move. Then go back outside and pick it back up. There's no physics so your items won't roll away and there's no radiant AI so NPCs won't steal your shit while it's there. Nothing to worry about
>>729689996if you ask NPCs in starter town for "a little advice" one will tell you to take scrolls of divine or almsivi intervention so you can get out of a tough situation.
>>729693790Holy shit is nu /v/ really this retarded
>>729690323Or I can just sell to Creeper and not worry about my barter skill.
>>729699126>>729699138Damn I'm actually retarded
>>729697661The first time I fought one of them I kited them with the spear of bitter mercy. That deranged nog had instant kill darts on him. I can't imagine what fighting 5 at a time is like. PS: that spear is really good
>>729693790I asked this question when I was 12.Are you 12?
because most never beat morrowind. they'd have cliff racers constantly chase them get angry and quit. hell I think most people probably get filtered hard once you get to the ashlander part of the main quest, it goes from somewhat linear quest pathing to entirely "find these obscure places even with directions" expecting you to die in the process, clear intention of sabotage
>>729689996drop your shit and prepare next time so that it doesn't happen again.
literally impossible to find without a guide
>>729689526>complaining about savescumming in Morrowind
>>729693194Den use a scroll nigga it's da elder SCROLLS
>>729699601Where do you find any Macguffin in an RPG?Where the boss is.
>>729699293It's ok, MW can be kind of overwhelming at first so there's a lot of things you can easily miss. The game's not as complicated as it initially seems, if you take some time to learn it.
>>729699601lies, unless its the first bethesda game you've ever played, you would have the habit of searching every shelf and container for items to collect everywhere you go
>>729699601You might get a kick out of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL3selbZRSM
>>729699601>he didn't install the mod that places it randomly with maximum retard difficulty then get assblasted and console it in
>>729694851thanks>>729699231>>729699409playing for the first time, can't know if it isn't said anywhere ingame or in the manual you don't have to be complete autists about itI noticed it but never paid much attention to it, not like I have any trouble killing stuff in this game anyway
>>729699981>extra HP bar appears only when i enter combat>decreases when i hit the enemyif you couldn't figure out this was the enemy health bar intuitively then you might have an abysmally low IQ anon
>>729689526Are you me? Lol I was just playing this last night and didn't realize just how screwed I was going in Vas with only ONE restore strength potion. It didn't seem like dispel or cure was working either. On top of that, I cleared out Vas before talking to Ulyne like every person on the internet said to and then went back to have her join me to kill the last guy and EVERY ENEMY respawned.I made it through spamming summon spells though but barely
>>729700135I just didn't look into it while in combat? I noticed it was there but didn't pay much attention to it, and it turns out it's not important anyway because combat is so easy in the first placewhy are you so mad anon? someone kill your dog or something?
>>729699981nah it's genuinely crazy that you failed to pick up on that. but good luck with the game anon, have fun :)
the fate of all SHARTgonians
>>729689526>learn to carry restore strength potions or know a restore strength spell
>>729691006pathologic 2 sort of. every time you die you get a debuff that makes the game harder and it never goes away
>>729690323survival mods solve this problem
>>729692491Not true, all enemies have health, magicka and stamina like the PC does and spend them the same way.
>>729700479>why are you so mad anon?
