Mirrors Edge used the Beast lighting engine from Illuminate Labs. Illuminate Labs got bought out shortly after by Autodesk and they currently hold the license for it. They did immediately cancel all licenses that were held and let Beast die.
The source code is obfuscated and only in the hands of Autodesk.

i was thinking something along the lines of sifu with aesthetics of mirrors edge and nu-marathon. I have been drawing and 3d modelling for almost a decade now so thats no problem. Getting used to unreal and coding is the hurdle but its not so hard due to visual scripting.

Just don't make your story too generic. It's a trap a lot of indie devs fall for, especially with traumaslop. It's better to not have a story than having a generic one

I can't get of the visual scripting either it assumes you know how to code conceptually so it really makes it more abstract if you've got no experience in coding at least with actual c++ they give examples and functions while there is very little documentation for visual.

It's as inefficient as it gets without getting AI involved (you're not using slop code, are you anon?).
Besides, it is indicative that you're not not actually interested in learning how to code for you game, so you're likely to give up at the first roadblock.

Istarted learning c# and java in February, my software engineer friend told me to start there and not to worry about c++. Im still just using visual scripting cause his advice. So far my game's systems are simple so its not so bad. Nothing too complex yet to the point I have to delve into c++.
