In the end, how did he do compared to Reggie?
he fucked peach in the twat
>>729748323>doug bowserwho?
>>729748323He did ABSOLUTELY nothing.
SO LONG GAY BOWSER
>>729748323NoA is less a division of Nintendo and more their legal department
idk. switch 1 was a good era. 2 so far has been pretty uneven.
>>729748323Bowser's castle is just up ahead, and you know what that means.
>>729748323Doug Bowser has the Switch 2 failure on his hands and rode Reggie's coattails for the entirety of his career while he dips out like a coward at the first signs of trouble. Reggie at least managed to save the ship after the WiiU bombed instead of jumping onto a life raft at the last second.Reggie >>>>>>>>>>> The Coward Doug Bowser
>>729748323Horifically well-suited name for a man horrifically unsuited to his job. Reggie tard-wrangled Nintendo into including Wii Sports as a pack in with the Wii guaranteeing they won the gen while Bowser did nothing to stop Nintendo going full retard with the Switch 2. So long, gay Bowser.
>>729748553
>>729748323>jewish looking lizard man who stayed out of the spotlight and did nothing notable except potentially signing off on increasing censorship present in western releases vs wholesome chungus Reggie
>>729748657>170,3
>>729748323so long Gay Bowser
>>729748323I have no idea what he even did. Reggie I at least remember from the Directs.
>>729748646>>729748749NoA spearheading killing Switch emulation, from Nintendo's perspective, is more valuable than anything NoA has done in the past 20 years. Their lawyers finally fixed the piracy problem. All it takes is never stopping and you really can just kill it.
Boooooooo, boo Doug, boooooo
>>729748841Nintendo fixed the piracy problem by making 0 games worth pirating.
>>729748323Unlike ReggieHe was bald and everyone hates himDidn't even know that he lasted 10 years, dude was more abscent in his company's life that my dad in mineNo one will miss him
>>729748323SO LONG GAY BOWSER!
>>729748990Like seven million copies of Tears of the Kingdom were downloaded before release
What did he even do? Any cool insider stories to his name like Reggie? Seriously WHAT DID HE DO? because all the outward facing public stuff from NOA is negative
>>729748323Did they hire him only because of his last name?
>>729748323What was he responsible for?
>>729748841they didn't kill shit lmaoit just returned under a different name
>>729748629THIS IS IT LUIGI
>>729748631>the Switch 2 failure?
>does nothing>paid millions
>>729749164There's no Switch 2 emulator after nearly a year and Switch 1 emulation has been de-mainstreamed
>>729748841>NoA spearheading killing Switch emulationLol delusional tendie cope. Switch emu scene hasn’t been better now that instead of only two emulators to choose from, there’s more than three all with different optimizations and compatibilities. Yuzu and Ryujinx getting canned only opened the pathway for more forks and interest.
>>729749259The Switch is still emulable easillyNintendo didn't do shit about that beside killing some known ones
SO LONG, GAY BOWSER!
>>729748646360 was the best console that gen by a wide margin, but the red ring dragged it's rep into the dirt
>>729749507>>729749595Hopefully they all stay quiet instead of being loud retards this time.
>>729748323Completely unnoticeable other than his name being Bowser
Iwata and Reggie were a rare breed of extremely public-facing presidents who liked making even the smallest announcements themselves and doing dumb shit like making skits for YouTube. That's not the norm for people in their positions including Doug so of course he's not as fondly remembered
>>729748553Kek
>>729748323I didn't even notice his tenure, i don't think i even saw him talk once.
>>729748323>He doesn't do anything?...
>>729749203The sole reason why the Switch 2 had a better launch window than any console before it was because Nintendo could have launched the console in 2022-2023 easily (Ampere was release in 2020). They had warehouse full of that damn thing and they didn't try to use the artificial scarcity tactic like the did with the Wii. The people that bought the Switch 2 in 2025 were mainly "early adopter", the hardcore Nintendo fans that would have anything Nintendo would have released. But the November sales have shown that no one else is interested in buying the Switch 2, the mainstream public which generally buy in drove product like the Switch 2 during the holidays didn't show up. Nintendo fucked up with the pricing strategy, we are in a K-shaped economy and like everyone else, the bet hard on the upper arm but unlike everyone else, they didn't had the install base and the foward momentum to back it up (the Switch 2 is an entirely new product, not a simple iteration of the Switch 1).
>>729750593Leftist memes in a nutshell. See you after the next famitsu thread.
>>729748323based on the recent nintendo's decision making? awful
>>729750738It's a paragraph.
>>729748629>>729749197Focus, N
>>729750738The Switch 2 has a 30% rebate in Japan, this is why it kept the Switch 1 momentum. If anything, the reason why the Switch 2 is so expensive in the rest of the world is because we are subsidizing every single console sales in japan.
>>729749674All the 360 had was multiplats. None of its exclusives were any good, so you might as well own a PS3... which is why the PS3 won 2nd place behind the Wii that gen.
>>729751131>None of its exclusives were any good
>>729751109the switch2 isn't less expensive for a jap than it is in the us for an american. japs don't get paid in euros or dollars. this whole value shit is mentally defective nonsense.
like a rat off a sinking ship
>>729751319The Switch 2 is cheaper than any other alternative on the market. This is what it is compared against and why Sony had to release an region-locked PS5 Digital.
>>729751131>might as well own a PS3>which never even had party chatinsane cope, the PS3 was behind the 360 is almost all online gaming elements which was probably the most important thing about consoles at that time.
he was just a suit and tie.why do you guys even think about these people?
>>729751740You didn't have to pay to play online for the PS3.
He was inoffensive and had a memeable last name, good way to transition away from Reggie. Pretty sure NoA has long since been a glorified marketing division and has very little autonomy of their own so I have no opinion on his business decisions, but at least he didn't try to block any major games from releasing like Reggie did with Xenoblade. That I know of
>>729752813Tendies mad that a CEO doesn't act like a clown for their amusement like Reggie did
>>729752846And it suffered dearly for it, was riddled with cheaters, sucked over all and accounts got hacked on a large scale. Good job.
>>729751319The switch 2 is less expensive in Japan and no amount of tendie crying or pilpul will change that.
>Doug Bowser leaving Nintendo HQ
>>729748323Farewell Mr. Doug Bowser you will be remembered for doing then leaving and refusing to elaborate
>>729748646Agreed with your pointCould do without the Xenosluts anon :|
>>729748323Whooooooooooo?!!!!
>>729754356>Could do without the Xenosluts anon :|
How is it this guy has the most fitting name ever and I hadn't heard shit about his tenure.
>>729749197Will the Mario Galaxy Movie have more Smash references?
>>729748323>how did he do compared to Reggie?absolute nobody that left no lasting impact or recognition
>>729754459This. He showed up in a Direct like once to do the tired joke about his name. Aside from that I don't think he was much more than a yes-man for the Japanese side in terms of decision making.
>>729748323Good riddance
>>729748323Reggie>made his debut with the infamous "kicking ass and making games" line>proud gamer>created memes like "my body is ready" "I feel like a purple pikmin" and "well that's all the time I got, I need to go back to playing Animal Crossing New Leaf for the 3DS" >interacted with fans>was hands on during his time at Nintendo>him and Iwata made Nintendo have "your fun uncle" vibes with their skits >like mentioned before he stayed at the company even when things were looking dire and endured the Wii U eraDoug Bowser>named Bowser and did fuck all with that the entire run>bland business man>no memes>tells fans if they're too poor for a Switch 2 they should go buy a Switch instead >no public presence >burned good will people had for Nintendo and now the mask is off Nintendo is seen as a soulless greedy corporation>dips when the Switch 2 doesn't meet expectationsReggie won
>>729748479yeah while singing peaches chocolate starfish
>>729753302I know you're baiting (you)s and being contrarian on purpose defending a soulless CEO, but even non-tendies like Reggie more you colossal faggot.
>>729748323He did okay, I bought a Switch.
>>729754356Conker would never say this
>>729748323I mean, if you mean as a figure head he was bland and was more like the other corporate CEO types. Reggie, while certainly a millionaire CEO, had charisma that made him seem approachable. He also just looked different, being really tall and kinda big and Haitian, he stood out. He was whatever. The Switch 1 was good and so far the Switch 2 is waiting for a game not named Donkey Kong to give it some life.
>>729748323At last, the big bad has been vanquished.
>>729748323Actual footage of Doug right before his resignation
>>729757163So long, gay Bowser...
>>729755085Reggie had the benefit of E3 giving him a stage. Was there even a single E3 during Bowser's entire tenure?
>>729760605Reggie definitely had some good E3 moments but he also had Directs to help him when that wasnt happening, because during his run they actually used directs for more than "Here's game, release date, next game". A lot of things that endeared peopel to him were skits during those directs, like the cyborg reggie and him shouting at Bill. E3 falling apart was it's own problem, but Nintendo couldve kept up that style of direct and didnt
bowser was boring and never realized how much the success of his company relies on its public image and how much its fans see it as the "good guys". reggie was passionate about his job and always prioritized communication, because he realized how earning goodwill and trust from your customers is good practice. it's part of the job.bowser wasn't merely lifeless and sterile, he actively harmed nintendo's image via his inactionand i never even particularly liked nintendo, but reggie and iwata clearly knew what they were doing as far as public relations is concerned
>>729748323He was a very nothing person. The only thing people knew about him was his name is Bowser.
>>729748631I like that everyone talks about people like they're celebrities. You see this in politics too.
NoA president is a powerless figure head. I can't name anything good or notable he's done but he hasn't fucked up in any way either. Very forgettable tenure
>>729762492Reggie single handedly is the reason the wii was bundled with wii sports which drastically increased its sales.
>>729748323
>>729762598I miss the days of having friends over to play Wii sports because I was the only kid who had a Wii at the time. Would have never happened if it didn't come with the console, would have never wanted to buy a game like that.
>>729762598Yet 20 years later Nintendo had the gall to charge $10 for Welcome Tour that had less content and barely anyone bought
>>729762740Did kids have the same experience with the Switch? I don't remember it having the same kind of cultural impact, they kind of just appeared everywhere like Ipads did.
>>729763154I feel like the Wii just had a lightning in a bottle moment for its dumbass gimmick that worked, kind of hard to replicate that again, even with a new gen of kids.
>>729762982Yeah, Reggie wouldn't have let something like that slide. I brought up Reggie giving away wii sports because noa presidents do have actual power. The old crusty japanese men thought it was insulting to give away software they developed so they never agreed but reggie forced it through in america.
>>729763154Switch is just the latest gameboy. People bought them for their kids so they could play pokemon. Women bought them during covid for animal crossing. It's not a "social" console even if that's how it was advertised
>>729748546that's way better than what he could have done
what nintendo name will the next CEO have
>>729748789
