Which is better?

Subnautica, but they're not really comparable games. All they really share is 'aliens' and 'you pilot a ship'.
>>729752052I like both for different reasons, but Outer Wilds just because it's full of whacky stuff you don't see in other games. Subnautica is 50% the same survival thing you see in other games, but the other 50% is what makes it great.
>>729752052outer wilds doesn't have the lugging 15x your body weight in raw steel to and from your base shit that bogs down every survival game
Rain World >= Outer Wilds>Subnautica>Return of the Obra Dinn
>>729752118>they're not really comparable games>they’re very different gamesWhy do retards always say this? I know they’re different, but surely if we can put a man on the moon we can compare these games?
>>729752052Why are people obsessed with Outer Wilds?
>>729752118True, figuring out the objective in Subnautica is pretty kino though. It's more random than Outer Wilds because there's not really an order and you don't really get information until you hit the important logs, but it's basically explore further and deeper.

>>729752383Yeah, and we can say "which is better" to a lot of things, regardless of how much or little they have in common. And some point it becomes less of a comparison between two things and more like a "would you rather" question though. The term apples and oranges exists for a reason. Sure, they're both fruit, but they're so different that there isn't any reason to value one above the other beyond personal preference. You'd have to get more specific like, "which game makes exploration more enjoyable", rather than just saying "which is better overall". If you want that kind of discussion, you're gonna have to start it with some specific points for one or the other.

I liked Subnautica (the first one) a lot more because it actually sold the fact that you were alone on a alien world and every new audio log was a stark reminder of that. Compare that to all the ugly alien npcs in Wilds, that apart from 1 or 2 add nothing to the game and break any illusion that you're a desperate explorer out in deep space. The atmosphere just isnt there.
>>729752052They are too different to be compared, both are good at what they do
