A romance option character (usually) won't stop having reactivity to your choices though the game, unlike other characters who might stop giving a fuck on how scenes play out. A good example offhand for me is in WOTR Seelah doesn't say shit for hours at a time on options you're taking after act 3, meanwhile in my playthrough at act 5, Wenduag doesn't shut the fuck up at all, and I say that's because one is a romance option, one isn't
