It's a failed fusion of DMC character action and Souls. They mashed the two together without thinking. So imagine Devil May Cry style combat. But you can't jump cancel. No air juggles. You can't fucking tech. You can't parry in the air. No rebinding controls. You have a useless air dash that you can't run out of. And you're overly reliant on meter because your basic combo string doesn't inflict enough hitstun and enemies can just knock you. All of the encounters are static and pre-planned and you don't need to understand how anything works, just perform the actions as instructed.

It's worth full price. The game has over 30 hours of content even if you skip alot. The combat is fun and the story is adequate. The open world has some boring backtracking but the dungeons are fun.
