Nvidia will continue increasing the prices of the '90 cards because consoomers have proven to buy them regardless of the price. They'll become $10k, then $20k asoasf.
Normally I wouldn't care but this also means that they will gradually increase the prices of their low tier cards, which sucks hard.

They're good for anything that doesn't require CUDA. Main appeal right now is longevity and resale value due to Nvidia using a power connector that's designed to fail even on their midrange cards. If you want a fair price though, that ship sailed about a month ago.

the future is dead and gay my bro. just switch to a fucking ps5/Xbox at this point. PC gaming is unironically dead, and with the Chinks encroaching on Taiwan (where like 70% of chip production is located) day after day, I'd say it's safe to assume that modern electronics in general are about to skyrocket in prices as well. Soon you are going to have shit-tier garbage phones from Shitsung from 2019 being sold for like 1500$.

There's nothing but protectionism, sanctions and price cartels to blame for this. The AI is just the side effect of a large wad of imperialistic tendencies of trying to be #1 by consolidating all production for the benefit of a single continent. Problem is that it's a continent that manufactures practically nothing themselves. Practically each and every data center and the tech running inside is Taiwanese and Chinese at this point.

These are the same niggers who have issues understanding how the cellphone ---> Smartphone pipeline, internet and cars could have ever caught on. Bubbles tend to always have a single shared characteristic. They come and go real quick. Most of the technologies that have shaped the world today have been far from bubbles and have been iterations of prior technologies which improve over a period of time. AI technology isn't inherently the problem. The infrastructure is, which is why most companies go pants-on-head retarded for providing capacity. That is about the only thing that could be called a bubble in all this, the general requirements and consolidation of AI oriented technology will improve over time and at the point quantum computing takes off, we're looking at the data centers similarly as we looked at the old tape computers in the 1950-1970's.

Nvidia is only pulling this insane profit because they sell the tools to companies that promised investors fat stacks if they invest in them. What happens once said investors see that they are not getting any meaningful returns?

>Nvidia isn't effectively pulling out of gaming because they think it's funny.
Nvidia isn't pulling out of gaming, period. I don't get why people keep repeating this idea that they'll ditch gaming. It's a market in which they have a monopoly and a steady source of income guaranteed to continue even if the AI bubble pops. And they don't actually need to produce a high number of gaming cards to keep cornering the gaming market. Why the fuck would they abandon such a position?
>>
>>729810820
The 9000 series and especially 9070 XT is great for more rasterization heavy tasks and pretty much only struggles with games where all manufacturers and their cards struggle. UE5 adjacent architecture might as well be built on the demands of the dog and pony show that is DLSS/FSR as a whole, but i'd rather have a card that performs well in most games across generations at 1440p and 4k with a decent price point instead of basedjakking over CUDA and Nvidia architecture 24/7.

>The 9000 series and especially 9070 XT is great for more rasterization heavy tasks
Not particularly. The 9070XT is about on par with a 4070 Ti Super in rasterization, and that's a card that sells for 700 dollars used. If you want raw rasterization you're much better off getting a 7900XTX.

That was kind of the point. Breaking your bank for minimal gains in the 1440p and 4K performance categories might as well not be worth the extra moolah for being able to gain like 30 fps in Black Myth: Wukong. I've always valued a point where making your decisions in GPU purchases should be looked at according to your needs. Modern titles very rarely justify the most ridiculous price points and you can still get very respectable performance in games where the optimization matters. This could especially be important in the future when many of the currently horseshit UE5 builds get performance oriented updates.

These tech race issues have existed since Obama's second term and none of the administrations have really deviated from that line with the exception of Trump on his second term. To put it in context: Biden's administration took ridiculously heavy protectionist measures in chip technology in the Post-Covid years and it heavily tanked U.S technological exports as there practically was nothing to export that wasn't manufacture abroad. In the case of Trump's second term and a continuing beeline for China, atleast there is enough lucent thinking in the administration to understand that eventually the manufacturing has to return to the states in full or China will cement themselves as the only modern manufacturer in the next decade or so.

Most of the AI cards used by these big corporations goes towards making video's and making/editing photos. They aren't making money off of that, despite that being what most of their AI data centres are working on.

Where's the profit going to come from for them? Many other smaller type of models that have specific case uses like detecting cancer from radiology scans can be run on small local models for free. I don't think the people who are just saying "Just wait, they'll make a profit, it's the future!" are actually thinking this through.

And nobody said anything about sides either. I'm simply saying that Trump is continuing the completely same measures that all the other administrations have. The only large difference being that the technology corps are buying favours more openly. It's not like it's been particularly a Trump issue either. Biden administration might as well have been run as a shell company for plenty of other tech bros the only difference was that they made decisions that monetarily cut into company profits and that kickstarted the whole thing. Instead of the companies continuing to compete with foreign manufacturers, they instead opted to impose stronger sanctions on new technology which in turn strong arms companies into making investments in the U.S. See the point? The only difference with the current status quo is that the companies were given an open check for domestic investments while U.S continues to sanction and deny technology from competing countries.

How do any of those things have to do with the current issues. You do realize everything the U.S tech sector currently uses is manufactured in Taiwan and China on license. Right? The reason to this has always been a deficit in U.S manufacturing. Not the fact that Orange Man is in the White House. This is where you honestly lose me. What does the current ICE raids and a single company on Earth doing most of the GPU license manufacturing have to do with each other? U.S barely now has any chip manufacturers that aren't in the business of Intel and CPUs, so the fact that the U.S is trying to undercut competition by making sure that the components that aren't even manufactured domestically get basically double sanctioned. It isn't solely Trump's fault, but U.S goverment is much more than the sum of it's President, which seems to be something everyone forgets each and every administration.

Its a pattern of behavior
why would anyone invest in US manufacture with how volatile the retard makes everything
If I was smart I would just wait a few years and see what happens and that seems to be what every company that doesn't have a gun put to their head seems to be doing.
I can be objective politically, its not the man its the actions and they are erratic and bad for business.

Ignorant cattle like yourself are incapable of seeing past "what is" and seeing what could be. And you think you are smarter for it. It says enough that Sam Altman himself isn't actually invested in AI.
He's invested in the technology data centers use.
He's invested in the companies that promise to help people if they get deepfake'd or software made to detect AI.
But he knows AI is a dumb investment.

Also this means he's invested in AI never running more efficiently or succeeding at its alleged goals.

You do realize that this has been an US issue for ages. It isn't just Trump. Trump is just more of a culmination of everything American in terms of competing with other countries. Sanctions, military filibustering, creating conflict and having a colonial attitude towards their allied countries has been a thing since Post-WW2 and trying to somehow place Presidents in a hierarchy on "How good of a job they did" is amazing when you consider that US has been completely swamped in foreign trade wars and military conflicts for ages.

Why does anyone even want to buy one of these abominations? RTX 5000 is one of the worst gens NVIDIA made in long ass time, 5090 is only like 25% faster than a 4090 (at 4k, even less at lower res) for another 150W power consumption. It's complete dogshit. When the 4000 series came out everyone (rightfully) shat on them for the high prices but a 4090 was like 70-80% faster than a 3090, plus much more efficient too, it was good hardware at least and provided way more performance.

Now the ultraturd 5090 is getting even turdier by increasing the price on a product which was already bad and didn't even deserve its MSRP, let alone any extra on top, so what the actual fuck is wrong with all the retards going insane about price hikes on this crap? It was already bad and it was never worth the money anyway.

Arguably with everything being Fiat currency, The economy was completely artificial anyway. It crashing is like your Nintendo shutting off. Or your gacha save file in the server being deleted. Doesn't mean Jack shit. There are enough resources to keep people alive just fine, it's just that a fat goblin is sitting on top of them only letting a little come out at a time so that he keeps power. If we push that goblin off, things change. It's a risk that can go terribly wrong, but so is allowing them to keep controlling it.

Investors were calling out two months ago that if the prices go down the bubble pops.
They cannot go down for at least 5 years, likely up to 10.

This is part of why the investment scheme around AI tech is unsustainable.

FSR4 is on par with the older CNN model of DLSS upscaling. I say that as an Nvidia user. In fact the best thing FSR4 has ever done is finally make it acceptable for everyone to admit that FSR1-3.1 was always dogshit, and the headlines about it being on par with DLSS were always a lie.

What the fuck are you babbling about? The political ethos of specific countries are the sum of their administrations. This is the problem you're plagued with. You refuse to understand that US has by large made a series of cumulative decisions that have laid it on the path it is on currently and Trump is just the apex of all that. A Reaganite president with delusions of American grandeur when the said grandeur has been rotting for ages. That is the problem. Not Trump. There is a saying in my country that people usually choose leaders that heavily represent their political ethos and that is certainly correct with the US. Crying about Trump when the larger elephant (Complete economic and societal collapse) is wrecking the China shop is peak idiocy and part of the reason why Trump was elected in the first place.

Must've missed the bubble by two or three weeks at most, and now I could literally sell just the RAM and recoup the cost of the whole thing, it's crazy.
Barring hardware problems I don't think I'll need to upgrade for some 10 years or so, which I hope is long enough for this whole thing to blow over.
