What even was the creative idea behind this game?
QTEs and delusional grandeur.
>>729810398Create a PS4 demo
>>729810398Proof of concept for Cryengine on next gen, also it was developed as a Kinect title and only converted into a normal game pretty late in development. The irony is that it's arguably the best looking Xbone game even though it was an early demo of the technology and they jumped ship with the Kinect shit not long after launch
>>729810398graffix
>>729810398We need a tech demo to showcase next gen graphics
>>729810398it got extremely repetitive but i liked it. Simple but good story, very nice aesthetics, a few bosses for good measure, even the va's despite the british accents were good
>>729810694>ROME IS ORDER!This game is "how often do you think about the Roman Empire" personified
>>729810694Yup. And it was nice to get an ancient rome game that wasn't a city builder.
>>729810778i can't unhear the main character as grey from hitman but he did a good enough job anyway
>>729810398to be a graphical tech demo for the xbone it shipped out alongside
>>729810694>Simple but good storyyou are fucking joking
>>729811016what's bad about a simple revenge story (with your hero actually having principles, saving the empire from the tyrant) ?
>>729811132boudicca sacks romeit's total nonsenseif you want a story about saving rome from being sacked there's plenty of legitimate threats to choose from
>>729810398Should have been a gladiator game instead
>>729811016 It’s literally "Gladiator" with a console budget and some QTEs slapped on. Yeah, it’s not Shakespeare, but it hits the beats - betrayal, revenge, stoic speeches, and slow-mo murder in a toga. It did what it set out to do without trying to be smarter than it was. Not every game story needs to be Disco Elysium, anon.
>>729810398It was mainly designed as a tech demo. Usually at the start of each console generation, you get a few games that primarily exist to show what the console and/or engine is capable of, and these games are mostly forgotten once the fulfil that purpose. The original Crysis is another example of that kind of game.
>>729810398Shit, I JUST added this game to my cart. Is it any good, or just a graphics/animation demo?
It was originally a kinect game so I think the intent was motion based combat.
>>729810398A tech demo
