I either skipped or was unphased by the plot/lore stuff. The real issue with the game is that the beat-em-up fundamentals get sidelined and buried by the halfway point of any given run since you're supposed to be activating elemental abilities and specials constantly to deal with all the armored enemies they throw your way. Also a majority of the endgame enemies and every single boss cannot be grabbed so fuck you if you wanted to build around Throws (which I did since the Dwarf is the most fun character). If the roguelite stuff was a side mode to a standard arcade progression like SoR4 this could've been great but it's merely alright. The actual aesthetics are solid, even with a few character designs being misfires. There has yet to be a game inspired by Capcom D&D that has touched its quality; Absolum fell for the roguelite meme, Dragon's Crown is too grindy and padded out, Code of Princess plays like wet dogshit, etc.

Azra is masked up and his exposed skin is drow purple. He rules a desert kingdom so like the closest thing the game has to a white guy is the villagers in the first area who are racist against your people but literally just protecting their homes. >>729831806Azra is not grab immune and in most enemy packs there is at least 1 enemy you can grab to dunk on the rest of them often without even needing to break their shield or armor. That said yeah of azra's troops only the dogs and some of the differently colored spear men can be grabbed. Elf queen is also a good fight for throw dwarf since its the one that actually has adds for most of the fight. Actually found the opposite, the elemental abilities tended to play second or third fiddle to the clash/evade system and actually having a goddamn complete moveset with the talents. Like holy shit why is the command grab button locked behind one of these things.

Dwarf really wants either the throw/piledriver or reload to have class identity, elf's moves are all pretty disjointed to combo without her talents, the doll has no sauce since the retards made her ground grab and air grab both count as the same move for the stale move combo system, and actually the frog is fine from the get-go.Honestly the dwarf's piledriver does such insane damage I usually just pick up necro or time nodes to shore up my defense or help CC

Characters each have a weapon unique to them which is interesting but they're not balanced against each other at all. Scoring system is genuinely very smart and has strong risk/reward, enough to make me play through it multiple times, even if it makes no sense in context (you collect gems until a meter is full and then you start collecting coins and enough coins give you a Continue, but you can cash out the meter on supers when it's less than full, but when it's full you instead turn the entire stage monochrome and summon rainbow ninja enemies that give you bonus rainbow coins on death).
