>union of atomic workerswhat a gay name
>>729829039anyhow i'm glad i came across these two guys, good vendors, esp since i ended up going to the glow afterwards
>>729829196sometimes i like to imagine this game but the overworld traveling is done like the smaller areas-- it would be an even more fucked up version of kenshi lol.
>>729829261also these map overviews are great. very stylish.
>>729829326huge fuckin' hole in the ground. also wonder if the rad levels on the overworld map are specifically placed, or if its just a random thing you accumulate from traveling. also the music here is quite atmospheric.https://youtu.be/KZZKzJTGI9E
OP, is the resolution this fucked for you when you play or is this just what the screenshots are doing?
luckily i had a rope on me, figured i'd need more of these since i had to use some to descend vault 15. >>729829578i'm used to the huge resolution, i play underrail and i zoom out all the way as much as i can so the habit carried over here.
>>729829693I hope you popped some rad-x before you got to the glow.
>>729829730i absorbed a lot of rads just getting there, but i popped some radx and radaway before going down. have to spend my money on something since the game gives a ton of guns and ammo.also i quite like how the nuke shit straight through multiple floors, idk the continuity of that is just pleasant to view. i like layers. would be fun to explore this irl (well without the rads and the bots)
>>729829950thought this was a fucking mri for a second
>>729830014at first i thought this was an alien, but in retrospect after reading the archived reports, it's probably some kind of fev test subject dead baby thing.
>>729830491or maybe it's a melonhead. NEOSCAVENGER/michigan urban myth crossover BOO!
>>729829950The glow is one of the comfiest dungeons in all the games. You really get the feeling of exploring something ancient and untouched. Also the only one to have a radioactive pit where everything is actually fucking dead except for the robots.
>>729830561anyhow i talked to zax a bunch, and played chess with it. learned about this fev megavirus created by west-tech and some tidbits about power armor. more on zax in a bit since it had a cool interaction with it later on.>>729830683idk if comfy is how i would put it. it imo feels quite lonely and idk how to put it, 'muffled' maybe. it's like you're in a little fishbowl-- the glow feels like it's own world. like a dlc to a game that never crosses into the basegame. a little bubble of the past. it kinda gives off a serene feeling, but it a more depressing sort of way lol
>>729831218also i turned the power on, repair book and tools finally came in handy. also holy fuck the high resolution and the background tiles do not look right together.robots are annoying as fuck to deal with-- also i finally learned that opening the inventory is waht costs AP and you can stab yourself with all the stimpacks in the world at once, makes fights much easier.
>>729831538also picked up that holodisk from the dead bos guy, and i like the contrast between seeing 'united states armed forces' and 'ancient' together. its cool stuff. the old world is dead and we're all scurrying around in its remains like roaches. and there's layers of roaches: probably a handful of independent adventurers, the 'ancient' bos expedition, and now the player character.
>>729831218>played chess with itmake sure your rad-X is still active anon, I recall this is one of the ways to softlock your game without extra saves. radiation poisoning is realistic in this game and a fatal dose won't kill you right away.
Some interesting info about the fev, and I understand where this whole story is going now. Like I haven't seen those big ass muties at necropolis and how they've been yoinking the traders from the hub. Which makes this dead husk fishbowl-world of a location into the birthplace of this game's conflict, interestingly enough. >>729832207>make sure your rad-X is still active anonYes I had to take more radx when I randomly checked my character status and found I was suffering from radiation sickness. Also these posts are a bit backlogged. Is that the right word? What I mean to say is that I've escaped the glow at this point, these were from hours back. Just couldn't post about it until now.
>>729831538Any robot can be disabled by targeting its CPU, also, like with any drugs, you can double dose radX and become basically immune to radiation. The game only has a few radiation pockets, and by the time you get to the glow you are swimming in radX and rad-away
>>729829039>not playing on a crt>not playing on low resolutionop is a fag
one last look at zax, who is kind of a really important figure now that I think about it. (I keep referring to zax as 'he' but it's really just an 'it') It's the sole survivor of a nuke utterly decimating all of the personnel in this facility, and ultimately he is a witness to the end of humanity. zax also wouldn't give up any information or deactivate security so i wandered around with tycho looking for a solution (and then getting so much loot that i spent 15 minutes rearranging inventories and then still leaving a bunch of shit on the floor that i'll never go back to get), then eventually gave up and returned to zax and played chess with it (reluctantly because i didn't know how much in game time it spends and i didn't have much radx left and i also didn't know what the fuck playing chess with zax does) and then wondered if i didn't have enough skills to deactivate the security when talking to zax, but then i realized that after i played chess with it twice it allowed me to look at all the information about fev and power armor and let me download all that shit to my pipboy, so then i kept playing chess with it and then zax let me deactivate the security. so basically you have this really lonely ai (not sure how advanced) that locks up a bunch of its abilities until you appease it or just give it some company because it's been alone for so many years. and it can't move, it can't escape, it just sits at the bottom of this dead radioactive hole with nothing to do. and that's how it'll be until it eventually deteriorates and dies. It's a little sad and kind of a human moment from a non-human entity. >>729833596They felt really tanky desu even when I aimed for the cpu but I got through them thanks to copious amounts of stimpaks. also it's so comical that the robots just pull out sniper rifles/shotguns, there's no like integrated high-tech weaponry lol.
>>729834306and yeah, combat armor. glad i didn't buy a set at the hub, would've been a waste of caps. bye bye leather armor.
You still have time to use my Katja modhttps://arch.b4k.dev/v/search/image/KpFml2AzJ3Vk7KNZRgaqaA%3D%3D/page/3/
>>729830683true, the glow has a stellar soundtrack too
also some random events, now i'm completely curbstomping human enemies.>>729834526i am playing as a human female, sorry. i'll give it a look though, might be fun for a future playthrough since i want to try melee/unarmed next time.
found this christmas story (i sitll think about the leg lamp) bb gun in this guy's house lmao, and it's quite good.
more funni references
>>729834914>All that darknessI didn't know it was like this
and finally where i last left off, getting access to the bos. need to return the water chip and then look for that bos guy at the hub. time to actually boot up the game now!>>729834947it's a bit weird yeah i wonder why some encounters are limited to such smaller spaces compared to others.
>>729829039Do we have any images like this but for Fa1 and 2?
I went back to play the classic games after Fallout 3 as well as New Vegas and liked them all, but still preferred Fallout 3. Honestly just realized I just really really like exploring first person sci-fi ruins.
BECAUSE THEN YOU LOSE ALL YOUR PEGASUS KNIGHTS IN ONE TURNalso wow this is cool if you watch this conversation you get free +3 unarmed and melee.>>729835356don't think i've ever seen one for 1/2, u could make one?
>>729835671I think post apocalyptic ruins are interesting in most contexts. I think I've only played one or two post apoc games that bored me compared to 90% of fantasy RPGs
>>729835707oh wow and +500 exp. epic.>>729835671yeah i like scifi ruins, always something kinda familiar about them while also being quite alien. little snapshots into other ppls struggles. very alluring.
>Fallout for antsUse the scaling option, faggot.
wow this dude has the biggest stick up his ass ever
>>729835671For me it's the opposite. I replayed FO3 and NV and i got bored out of my mind. And i used to love these games as a teen. I just can't stand going around copy pasted assets, i much prefer looking at flat art and reading and using my imagination for the rest now, so i would pick FO1 Glow or the muties base over any 3D dungeon.
>anti rad foamwonder what this is made of>>729836284yeah well maybe i am an ant (god please do not kafka me please god don't do it)
aaand now is about time i leave and turn the water chip in so i don't accidentally let everyone die while i'm recovering for weeks (i assume this actually will do like a 3 week timeskip or something to account for the operation recovery) after getting implants
she's pretty cute, aside from the weird ass hairstyle
second mention of mutant sterility, first from zax, now the bos.
>>729836631FO3 anon here, weirdly enough I actually DID feel that exact same way playing Arcanum. I’d honestly prefer another steampunk isometric game over that 3D arcanum successor Clockwork Revolution InXile is making
>tfw no gf who can make cool laser guns
>>729837771I never played those, but it's not like i'm saying these are bad games though, just that 3D RPG implies copy pasting stuff and generally less detail and more wandering around (i usually avoid fast travel unless it's an in-lore thing like morrowind mage guild teleportation or striders)
>>729829039What are some games like FO1 and 2?>inb4 Atom and UnderrailYeah yeah, but what about some lesser known ones, stuff not everyone and their mother have already played? What about mods for FO1 and 2?
lol i got power armor. i feel like i wasn't supposed to pass that repair check...>>729839917maybe the geneforge remakes? it's more magic fantasyish but it's got cool lore. https://youtu.be/10ofsv1sKp4or the wasteland games? i only played and 2 and 3 and I thought both were quite fun.i think arcanum was also mentioned here, never played that one tho>modsi heard sonora and nevada are both quite great, but i never played them. i also don't know how well they r translated to english, but it seems playable since ppl talk about it a lot.
