New Years hangovers editionPrevious thread: >>729699943>What is this game? The original JRPG predecessor of E.V.O. Search For Eden for the SNES, released on the PC-98, developed by Almanic and published by the JRPG gods themselves Enix. The game follows the perspective of a mortal creature chosen by Gaia, (You), to shepherd Earth through the entirety of its evolutionary history over the course of billions of years. You must save innocent wildlife from danger and clear obstacles to the world's continued evolution, while at the same time thwarting the machinations of a sadistic alien ojou-sama from outer space.>can I play it too?Just look up the ROM on MyAbandonware, then download the patch (along with the translated manual full of lore) here: https://46okumen.com/projects/e-v-o-the-theory-of-evolution/Sorry to those who were expecting a daily thread yesterday, but we're back. Our last session ended on a choice cliffhanger, yet while I was recording the footage for the four options I quickly realized that most of them were bad end traps. Before we pick the correct choice and continue our playthrough into the human era, let's take a look at our three bad ends first.Bad end #1: Chaosfags win SMT
Bad end #2: We live in a society
>>729836663bump so your thread doesn't meet the same fate as mine
"Bad" end #3: HFY
>>729836663Oh good; I was wondering where your final chapter had gone...
Without further ado, our final chapter begins.
So THIS is the peak human form?
No evolution chart? I wonder what happens when we max our attributes in this final chapter. It's a shame we no longer physically evolve, that was arguably the most interesting part of the game.
Our dinosaur genes were so strong that they continue to persist 60,000 years later.
60,000 years to go
>>729837463>>729837546>>729837618Ridley is in for it.
>my belovedI hardly fucking know you bitch. Where's my REAL wife?
We have teleportation tech?
>>729837463Seems 60k years still led to some wrecked continents on your map, there.
The world maps looks.... different now.
For the first time ever, we are truly free to explore anywhere we want. However, that means the developers can also hide our next destination anywhere they want...
We have arrived
Is that a Lunarian in the back? I thought we deported them all.
>One of the extremely few threads I actually enjoy on /v/ in yearsNice work, OP.
>>729838287You talked!?!?
>>729837889Don't worry. You're going to absolutely love what happens very soon.
The Belt of Venus looks so good here...On an unrelated note, did you know that before Windows, IBM computers couldn't handle the massive kanji alphabet? The PC-98 vidya ecosystem catered solely to a domestic Japanese audience. That probably explains why this game is so damn full of SOVL.
Devil apologists get the rope.
>asia>indiaThey literally invaded your continent by smashing into it with theirs.
>tfw you will never have sex with a woman the size of the moon
>>729838812>>729838908It's like you're about to fight Gym Leader Lt. Surge...
I JUST FUCKING GOT TO THIS CHAPTER WITH NO SPECIALS WHY IS THERE ALREADY A BOSS FIGHT
>>729839120You ain't seen nothing yet.
Shit just got real.
Here's a quick screenie of Devil. The mp4 recordings always wash out the colors.
>>729839329At least her skin isn't melting this time
As soon as we faint, we hear the sound of ocean waves lapping across the shore, just like the beginning of chapter 1...

>>729839446Should've kept your bone, that would've given you strength.
My wife is here!!!If you pause the video, you can see some evil booba
>>729837846>Psychic Samus AranP-prime 4?

Lunar onee-chan :(
I just got IRL chills on my arms and legs.
>>729839883Dude, she was already dead. The Devil just used her corpse to incubate for a few thousand years.
What the fuck does the rest of the solar system even look like? Are we just a lone blue planet orbiting the Sun now? Where are the asteroids going without Jupiter around to capture them into the asteroid belt?
>>729840095She didn't literally devour the planets, my man. She devoured the civilizations of those planets. Remember that there was a Lunar civilization that she (mostly) devoured, but the planetoid was still there until just a couple seconds ago.
This fight is also hilariously unfair. Maybe I should have spent those EVO genes.
Actually, if you time it just right you can perma stun her.
OWARI DA
this looks amazing
>>729840532There ya go, man. You are now one with your waifu.
>>729840630What a progressive society...
I guess... it's over. I'm kind of sad that we've reached the end now. These threads gave me something to look forward to just as much as the /v/ros. Thank you for giving this LP attention and giving all the helpful hints, it would have been difficult to overcome the awful grind walls if I was playing this game for my own sake. I don't really know what else to say. It was a blast, and maybe someday we'll play another cool PC-98 game together. Peace.
>>729840783>we go to a new world>they take the world with them
>>729840860There's only one thing left to do now...Play 46 Okunen Monogatari ~Haruka naru Eden E~That is not a serious suggestion.
>>729840860Thank you anon. It was a wonder to experience this with you. I miss LP threads like this, I miss the threads I did myself with X-COM.Godspeed Evoposter. Take care.

>>729836663I've had this game sitting on my PC for about a year. When I get to it, I just fumble opening it in Dosbox X because it doesn't seem to like 7zip files and just go back to masturbating despite having a Neko setup in Retroarch that can run it, but that doesn't support remapping.
