Yes, some of the stuff you get is busted, but thats why its fun, and you dont get very long to play with it, Id like to see this stuff used in the havok mode as an incentive to reach higher ranks because you unlock more stuff to make a busted build to use against busted modifiers. I never bought it back then because it seemed meh when I tried it but now is insanely fun. The skill it demands from you doesn't come just from builds but from reaction, precision, combos, footwork, game knowledge and teamwork. It is really really good now. Just got into Havoc missions

I haven't played since launch so all of my shit is outdated, I don't have any good properly statted/blessed weapons, for some reason even though my zealot was 100 levels above 30 I was only given 5 mastery points in Eviscerator (what the fuck), so right now I'm playing catch up on my guys.

A lot has changed but it stills feels like they haven't added nearly enough new maps and content.

Anyone else getting getting constant disconnects now? I am playing Hive Scum with Rampage/Chem Dependency and Shivs. When I start getting momentum with full chem buffs and rampage going I am basically Neo in the Matrix and just raping everything and dodge haxing into near invincibility. And then the game cannot handle such fast gameplay and boots me out. It isnt my system, I've got a 4090. My internet is fine. Hive Scum seems like it is simply too fast paced for FartShart servers.

Honestly everything has a strong build right now. Maybe zealot is the weakest? But you can still one shot bosses and do all sorts of wacky shit.

They've made all the classes so strong with the right builds that the only way they can figure out how to increase difficulty is to send 30 crushers at you, at once.
Plasma Veteran is strong as hell, Inferno Staff Psyker is broken as fuck, double shield arbites is basically unkillable, etc

Hive Scum is the definition of glass cannon. If you have the reaction and dodge/push skills of a spastic meth head you will go around shredding everything. Then go down instantly when something randomly pokes you because the game failed to register your dodge-I frame properly. I swear half the time the game literally breaks and enemies stop targeting me at all because rapid dodging tricks the AI that I'm not even on the map anymore.

It's not...great. It has its moments, but it's definitely not as polished or well-crafted as Vermintide. The levels are also notably more homogenous. I remember when Darktide launched there was literally only one tileset I could differentiate between the others (sandland). The others all blended together because they all looked the same.

Fatshark unfortunately kind of only got worse at making games over time. Vermintide 1 was their undisputed peak, and after that it was all downhill.

Personally I got bored of darktide because the maps are super samey, the characters are actually kind of shit, the story and setting are shit and the melee combat feels much easier than in vermintide. Hell Arbitrator isn't even a fun or unique playstyle. Just a smaller Ogryn without any of the physical comedy inherent to the weapons. The only thing unique about it is how absurdly low the skill floor is on that class. Oh and I guess you can have a bot running around playing part of the game for you.
But yeah, base classes is all you need. Hive scum is just for flavor with the poison and uzis and dying in one hit to everything you don't dodge.

Might want to buy arbitrator DLC if you need extra training wheels. Makes it harder to swap to real classes in the long run though. Ideally you start on Zealot and get good.
