How many keys does your ideal keyboard have
What's your favorite layout?
>>
80% since I have an mmo mouse with 16 buttons on the side

75%.

Honestly, the far bigger deal to me than TKL vs numpad (anything without number or F keys can not be considered a fucking keyboard, that's a macro pad), is modifier layout. I absolutely despise the 3/4 mod layout found on every fucking keyboard. 4/4 should be the minimum, 4/5 is good, 5/5 is great. Additional keys below the space is even better.
>>
>>729853236
65% keyboard and a separate numpad off to the side and out of the way

Pretty soon 75% will be the only thing they make and they'll sell arrow keys and numpads as separate DLCs
I hate the antichrist

only use 100% but the 80% one looks usable.
>>
>>729853236
I use two different 75%s (personal+work) but some keys are slightly different to each other and it's kind of annoying. Maybe I would prefer two 80%s since they are a lot more consistent.

You need at most a 80% keyboard because everyone plays better with the keyboard at 45 degrees, and a 100% keyboard is too big to play with at 45 degrees

I need at MINIMUM a 100% keyboard.
>>
>>729853692
I actually like the 75% arrow layout more than 100%. You get a nice cluster of keys, it lets me play RPGs one handed. If I need a numpad I can plug one in, I use mine maybe twice a year.

>>
>>729853236
I need the numpad to play roguelikes so probably 96% minimum.
>>
I need the full layout plus media keys. volume up and down is essential
>>
>>729853236
65% is all I need
>>
>>729853978
>volume up and down is essential
As someone who has had volume up/down mapped to my mouse scroll for the past 15 years, and before that had a keyboard with a wheel in the wrist rest, modern volume solutions are fucking atrocious. Ah yes, let me just reach over and use a knob where print screen should be, or use a fucking layer and tap keys like a mongoloid for 5% increments.

I'd never go back to having volume control on the keyboard.
>>
>>729854245
>use a fucking layer and tap keys like a mongoloid for 5% increments
But it just works if you hold the keys down
Like I use Fn+Up/Dn for volume up/down and it rapidly goes in 2% increments if I hold the keys down
>>
>>729854331
But I can just scroll up or down instantly to the correct value. You understand that a dial is vastly superior over 2 buttons, right?

60% width but with full F-key row

Right shift key is fucked on this one but unfortunately there isnt a lot of competition at this width
>>
it's extremely frustrating that there's only one keyboard I can find with a ibm 101 key layout and trying to see if others exist just gets me "keyboard 101" articles or some 98% tranny shit. it's even more frustrating that no one else seems to understand why I want one or thinks that it's stupid. no you're stupid.
>>
>>729853236
100% with macro buttons and an audio scroller.
>>
You're not white of you can't use a numpad.
>>
>>729853236
My ideal is the full 100% 104-key keyboard
I am currently using an 80% compact keyboard and I hate it. I miss having a number block. I hate having to use alt function keybinds to use the same keys full keyboards just have direct access to. The only thing I like about this compact format is that it's easy for your right hand to reach the arrow keys, that's the one upside if you have enough desk space to accommodate a larger keyboard anyway
>>
i need 100 woth numpad AND another row of programmable buttons either on top or the left side

>>729853236
100% full size, why would I want less keys on my keyboard?
>>
>>729853236
60% keyboards are actually closer to 59% (61/104≈0.587), meaning 41% of the keys are missing. If you use one, you are mathematically proven to be a tranny, as if cutting off functioning parts of a keyboard for "aesthetic" reasons wasn't enough proof.

TKL. It's the perfect middle ground for me to have enough mouse space for shooters while keeping Fkeys and the navigation cluster available for productivity.

ive used a 60% for years. a 65% wouldnt be to bad either. the extra space on my desk allows me to hold the mouse in a more comfortable position. I dont need to have my arm stretched out so there is enough room to turn left without hitting the keyboard.
>>
>>729853236
Non row-staggered keyboards are the only thing that matters.
Everything else is the same shit, not worth discussing.
>>
we should be able to add daughter-boards and other customizable boards. Keyboards should have no upper bounds.

>>729853236
I'm quite partial to the Tenkeyless boards, but I've grown to use the full 100% keyboards with time.

I was in the market for a compact 100-key with an END key included at the time, and didn't find any.

My biggest complaint with compact keyboards is their compromised touch-type usability. Retards gamers forgot why certain groups of keys have distinct spaces in them, especially the function keys. I literally have to add some tactile bump to the function keys so I can press them without looking down.

tl;dr I fell for the compact meme and should have gone with full mechanical keyboards.
