BotW kinda did this to me. I remember wanting to play another open world game that let you go anywhere you wanted with no bs invisible walls but couldn't find anything else with that level of freedom
I have never gotten depressed from a game. If I really liked it, usually the first thing I do after finishing it is immediately start a second playthrough.
>>729856382Final Fantasy X for teenage girls in the early 2000s
>>729856382I only got around to playing ME1 recently and it was really just baby's first RPG mixed with a bad cover shooter. I'll give it credit for the world building and dialogue though, I didn't have any problems with those.
>>729856382There's been a few, but I think Outer Wilds hit me the hardest because it's one of the only games where I KNEW it would never be close to the same if I replay it.It's been years at the point and I know I could still have fun with it, but at the end of the day I know I'll never forget the major solutions to problems, they were genuinely too memorable.
>>729856382I don't think I ever truly felt this. I get sad after beating some games and think about them for a few weeks, but inevitably just forget them after a month or so. I know for a fact there's been dozens of games that I felt "depressed" over beating but can't name a single one of them anymore
>>729856382The real Mass Effect is finishing Mass Effect and being depressed because they butchered my boy so badly after the first one. The people in charge should be executed
>>729856868The world building and dialogue are kind of the whole point, though. And despite ME1 being the best in the series, you won't really get attached until you finish the sequels. Yes 2 and 3 are flawed but you'll still feel quite attached to your comrades by the end, especially if you play the DLC
>>729856382Literally every VN
>>729856974I've never played Outer Wilds but I can relate to what you described in SotC. First playthrough was so mindblowing, and even fifteen years later I know it can't quite hit the same because I still remember the solutions
>>729856639Yeah, I also got pretty major Boss Baby vibes from it.
