I got 75 hours out of 3 and 95 out of 1&2 so they're pretty beefy for what are ostensibly 80s RPGs. If you just played them recently though I'd suggest putting it off for a bit so it feels fresher, they'll probably get a steeper discount later.

>>729882953I played this remake with my brother and we were pretty hyped about starting it because we've played several other DQ games before, but even though we played at the hardest difficulty there was zero resistance from the monsters. There was almost no need to replenish life and mana, because the characters would always level up before it went too low. The sound/timing feedback during battles was really bad, which made for an absolutely terrible time given the high monster encounter rate. We dropped it in disgust after 10 hours of gameplay because there was no sense of progression, just endless slop battles. We decided we'll try to find a rom of the original with a faithful translation some time in the future and just play that instead.
